Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 5 - Dec. 11)

Well hopefully you all have calmed down after me getting a lot of our pet peeves with Christmas romance movies off of our chests   This week, let's turn things right upside down 🙃 Shall we check our Story Goals, see how we are doing 11 days into December? How about the Words of the Day? Actually Aditus kind of laid down a challenge with the Words of the Day. Sandbag, Pestilence, Gyre, Poikilotherm, Tu quoque, Occident, Hagiography Our week was finished up with anot

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 4 - Dec. 10)

I will tell you off the start, I had some fun this week  I had the pleasure of stepping in to do the Ask An Author for Aaron this week. It was kind of nice to give him a much needed week off. Still not sure the reason for his absence, but make sure you check out the blog and hazard a guess . So what is new and exciting in my life this week? Well a whole lot of nothing. I'm in what I call the 2 weeks of hell at my real life job that happens every year. Luckily that is done and over with

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 3 - Dec. 9)

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas   I may have mentioned we had a big dump of snow before Halloween, but that was all melted off since the first week of November. Then we have had temps in the mid to high teens without a drop of moisture until last Thursday. We got a good dumping of snow. I would like my Christmas to be white, but not looking like it as the temp will be in the mid teens (celcius) again next week. Maybe I will have to make a trip to the North Pole   In the mea

Well Carlos said it first. Wayne said it second. So I'm going to say it as well Happy New Year to each and everyone of you from all the staff here at GA!!! We look forward to the upcoming year to see where our little corner of the internet will grow and expand with everyone here along for the ride! I think one of the main New Year's resolution this year was not to make any resolutions at all. And that is the best idea I've heard in years Cia wandered in on Monday in her flowing cloaks, ca

I said my New Year wishes on Friday, so in case you missed them, Happy Hopeful New Year   I thought I would start the blog off a bit different as it was the last week of the year. How did we do on our Story Goals for the year? Well, I'm happy to say that I'm proud of everyone that contributed to the site over the past year from Authors, Poets, Readers, Editors, and everyone else that has a membership at GA  I was also thinking, just imagine our numbers if we had the 1000's of guest that pop

Wow, this blog is going to cover A LOT of stuff. After all we are going to cover last year as well as this year too ! But if you were like me, it seems harder to remember the good stuff from last year, which there was, from the bad stuff . But we are in a new year with new expectations . I would like to remember a good friend of GA and to many on a more personal level as well, the passing of Comicfan. His contributions and participation on the site will always be in our memory   On the

It appears that the holiday season is starting to wind down. So if you celebrated exchanging gifts, what did you get that made you the most happy? Myself, I got a PS4. Now I'm not an avid gamer at all, but I leaned towards the PS4 as I believe @Myr has an Xbox, and if I got one he would be CONSTANTLY bugging me to play with him in Dora the Explorer, Special Adventures So what did you actually get? I'm curious   Before I forget, I want to wish everyone, your family and friends all the

Have you digested your Christmas Feast yet? Did anyone actually have some figgy pudding? Have you made tallies to see if the holidays was in the profit column or the loss one? Have you had enough of this year's Christmas holidays? Did you even celebrate the holidays?  Well, Santa seemed to skip over my house once again this year  I know I was really really really good this past year (not like I got out to anywhere ). I know he skipped my house because I didn't get my usual lump of coal  . I

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all though the GA house not a creature was stirring, not even a bear, penguin, wolf, eagle, zombie, tiger, cat, or Cindy Lou Who. The stockings were hung by Steve's dryer with care. In hopes that St. Myr soon would be there The GA community were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of naked men, or women, danced in their heads. And Valkyrie in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap

It looks like this will be the last weekly update before Christmas 🎅. So what constitutes a white Christmas you ask? In Canada it is 2 cm (.79 inch) of snow on the ground at 7 AM on Christmas Day, the US is 2.5 cm (1 inch) and the UK it is one snowflake observed falling anywhere in the UK . Obviously there is parts of the world that won't see or ever see a white Christmas, mainly most areas of the Southern Hemisphere. I'm also thinking about our friends in Australia that are fighting sever fires

Exactly 7 days to Christmas Day! I actually had to go to the mall and tell Santa what I wanted as I get a feeling I'm not getting anything from this lot   Curious, what percentage of shopping did you do in lets say online, brick and mortar stores, and/or local merchants instead of national chains? I ask since I really didn't look at the other two options. Amazon delivers my presents to my work and I go home and just wrap the boxes  Lazy, I know. Well in the effort to conserve heat, it

On the 8th day of Christmas, by true love gave to meeeeee, divorce papers!!! 😮    Well, that isn't how the song goes  But if any of you do get divorce papers on Sunday, I am so sorry    To tell the truth, all I can remember from that song is the five golden rings, two turtle doves and a penguin in a pear tree  This shall lead into the question of the week! Hmmm, do I have a question of the week every week? So rather than just asking what your favourite Christmas song is, I want to know
