Weekly Wrap Up!

First things first - announcements time!!!   Renee announced on the 20th of August that she is looking for theme suggestions for the 2013 GA Anthologies. If you have a suggestion for a theme, now is the time to let her know via the thread in the Anthology Forum. Suggestions will be taken until midnight (US Mountain Time) September 3rd and then this topic will be locked. Once all suggestions are in, a team will narrow it down to twenty themes for the GA Members to vote on. Why wait, get your su

Well happy Candy Hangover Day!!! If you partook in Halloween last night that is. I guess all day yesterday I wore a mask a lot of day, but not a scary one   Talking with some friends, they said they bought the same amount of Halloween Candy this year, knowing full well that they would probably have less than 10 percent of the usual trick or treaters. The reason? They felt they could eat all the candy they wanted and not feel guilty and not worry about running out before the end of the

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 31 - Feb. 7)

Well...  What a day today has been. I couldn't avoid a lot of stuff anymore so I had to go out in the freezing weather and get a bunch of stuffs done. Left the house at 8:00 and didn't get home to 3:30 😮 This is the weekend, aren't we supposed to relax and sleep in and take it easy?  So I'm curious, as after working 26 years in stores in retail, I know I didn't like when I heard people who talked about their Monday to Friday jobs. Where some of us in retail worked any day of the week.

1 done and only 11 to go! Maybe it was the time off, but did anyone else feel that January flew by? I know we say this more and more as we age  but for some reason I thought this one went really quickly. Now that we are in February and I KNOW a lot of you don't do resolutions but also some do. If you did, are they still being followed? Today I had breakfast with two friends that live together. One, who has been through multiple brain surgeries and major life events setting him back, fo

So don't be like me and Valkyrie   Valkyrie as Spike and me as Chester.  So to avoid getting a back hand (paw) or two, I promise I will not ask her daily for when the Anthology will be out  I will though be sitting patiently by awaiting the release! I know entries are making their way to out super duper Anthology Proof Team and then when everything is looked over and ready to go, Val will turn on the power   Now that is is April 2, did any one get April Fooled?  I worked

It seems like when I have nothing better to say, my momma's saying comes out: If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say it at all. Funny thing is, I don't have anything bad to say about anyone. This week   In an effort to bypass Valentines, but feel to bring up if you want, what are some of your mom's momisms? Or do you have a doozie or two of dadisms. One sage piece of advice that my dad imparted on me at a very young age was, don't pee into the wind. I wish I had paid m

So I was thinking this week . Does that make everyone cringe? Today when I wrote this up. it is the 14th, so just a reminder to you all that we are now 10 days from my birthday and tomorrow will be 3 months away from Christmas. Now I don't want all of you all to fret and worry over having to get me pressies for both celebrations in the next 3 months! I know you all were planning on spending at least $50 Canadian ($12.50 US) on each present, so why don't you combine the two and each of y

Weekly Wrap Up (April 9 - April 15)

Did you notice we had an announcement this week that you won't probably see regular blogs about every week? It was a bit busier week than usual on a Anthology release week. Now that we have two weeks of poetry anthos out, tell me 2 things. 1, how many have you read. 2, which one would you recommend to others? Okay, you don't have to choose just 1, but was thinking that we might get a wide range of likes. Maybe even tell us what you liked about it as if you were a salesman selling poems lik

Wow, September is gone. How may days to Christmas? Maybe I will write a Christmas Tale to get everyone into the season     Please, if you are an author, read and reread Cia's Wednesday Blog Post as it has some really, really, really valuable information on how to protect your works on the internets!   To start of the week, Cia hosted the CSR Day for September:   Wednesday was the important day to learn about protecting your works on the internets:   The

Every week we have different blogs featured here on the GA News Blog. For the past month and a half, Thursdays have been used to feature a past Anthology or Contest with new stories from that feature spread out over a month. This blog is done by the omnipotent one, the big kahuna, the big cheese, the master of all, the seerer of all things GA, aka @Myr Well I didn't happened to notice this past Thursday that Myr's anthology blog wasn't featured on Thursday 😮 and not until Thursday night.T

Taxes, taxes, taxes, oh my   I do believe my friends to the south have to have their taxes in by April 15th this year, and we up here in the Great White North have to have them in by April 30March 31. Thanks @Mikiesboyfor correcting this. No relief with Covid. I wonder what it would be like to have no taxes whatsoever like some countries in the world. No federal, no provincial/state, no sales tax, etc. I do have to admit that when I do mine and my dad's taxes every year it isn't that big of

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 17 - Dec. 23)

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all though the GA house not a creature was stirring, not even a bear, penguin, wolf, eagle, zombie, tiger, cat, or Cindy Lou Who. The stockings were hung by Steve's dryer with care. In hopes that St. Myr soon would be there The GA community were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of naked men, or women, danced in their heads. And Valkyrie in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap

Wow! Spring has sprung here and I'm sure our Australian cousins are settling in for a long, hard, cold winter  Other than maybe up in the mountains, does it even get below 0 C? What about New Zealand, @Stellar. Do you get a cold snowy winter, even on the southern tip of the south island with their spectacular mountains? I guess it was spring break here at GA, which means this will be the quickest wrap up I've done in a long time. So shall we see what went on here? Monday, Cia hopped in

Not really much of a preamble out of me tonight. I will give everyone a heads up that Renee will be returning next week to do the Weekly Wrap up for me, as I know for a fact that I will be indisposed one week from tonight 🍻 🍹 🍷  So be gentle to with her, and especially you, @Valkyrie, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all.
