Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 14 - Jun. 20)

What day is it? Sunday you say  Oops. Who took away a day on me this week   Actually I got into reading around 7 last night and around 11:30 I put down the IPad and rolled over and fell asleep. Darn you authors here at GA for making me forget about the real world   So a little late, but better than never. Oh my  I got ahead of myself   Here is the June Classic Author Announcement:   Followed up by the June Classic Author Excerpt! Then, believe it not, we have

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 7 - Jun. 13)

Another week, and another week of nice weather. I guess some of our US of A neighbours had a bit of extreme weather, so hoping you all are okay  Tonight, I actually sat at my computer and watched 3 completely separate thunderstorms move through the city. Great lightening shows, and thunder that shook the stuff in my place. Won't catch me going outside in anything like that again Oops, let me retract that! Watching the 11:30 local news and our major freeway going through the middle of the c

Weekly Wrap Up (May 31 - Jun. 6)

Exciting things happened this week in the GA New Blogs  Did you catch them daily, or do you rely on the Weekly Wrap Up to get caught up   So last weekend, I played 18 holes of golf on Sunday. We all practiced safe distancing and such. I say played, but I lie . We went to play in the Rockies and some of the tee boxes were quite the climb, and then back down to the carts. Since I don't wear my prosthetic leg much since I've been working at home, I don't get out on it too much during the week.

Weekly Wrap Up (May 24 - May 30)

Well excusssssse me  Seriously, I need to apologize ahead of time. I've been on a wee bit of a vacation this past week and I wanted to take tonight off, so I can do some social distancing visiting with some friends. We will be 6 feet apart in his back yard with a fire pit between us. All of us are on the bit shy of meeting up, but as a group, we decided lets give this a try but practicing everything we can, which is a heck of a lot more that what I see others doing in the grocery stores

Happy Memorial Day to all our American friends!!  As Elen said, it is time to pull out your bikinis and use them as face masks   Now, I am not suggesting that you put the tops on your top and your bottoms on your face  You might get arrested and for me personally, I don't need to see that . What about your neck of the woods, is it bikini weather yet? I'd ask everyone to post pictures of themselves in their bikinis but I'm scared what I would get sent in   Shall we move on from bikinis

Weekly Wrap Up (May 10 - May 16)

Sorry Myr, I'm going to takeover the word of the day and give a new one for the overnight period of Saturday into Sunday morning. Now it isn't glamourous and I"m sure that many of you have used it a lot in the last while. Bored. Yep, plain old bored. It is a long weekend here in the Great White North, as I'm sure it is in most of the Commonwealth as we celebrate Queen Victoria's Birthday. What that means is a Monday off for a 3 day weekend for some, even longer if you haven't bee

So lets have some fun  Over in the Games and Humour section, there is a topic called Last Post Wins! Recently two or three participants tried to find earworm songs to drive the others crazy  You know what I mean! The type of songs that you hear and then can't get out of your mind! No matter how hard you try! Well how about everyone share an earworm song to keep us going through Sunday to leave us all stark crazy. Post a Youtube link in your response  Have some fun   Some of the ones wi

Weekly Wrap Up (Apr. 26 - May 2)

Whoa, just about forgot to do up the weekly update today. Why you ask? I've occupied most of my day playing with myself  Now get your minds out of the gutter. I woke up this morning and having nothing pressing to do, I sat down in front of the computer and played solitaire by myself. Then after some lunch, I fired up the PS4 and played the Campaign on COD 🔫 . Well that kept me occupied for a lot of hours. After dinner, I was tired of being online, so I looked in a not often used cupboa

Help So, did I get your attention  ? Seriously, we need help from as many members as possible! I have been in conversation with @Carlos Hazday and he has 1 question left to ask an author(s) for Ask An Author. Needless to say, no questions, no Ask An Author . Your question could be about anything you want to ask. You can specify an author or authors you want directed to, or just ask the question and Carlos will put it out there still. If you click on his name above and then click o

Soooo, The other night I woke up with my pillow on the side of my face and I had hair in my mouth and in my nose  I've never had a beard for more than a week before in my life, but I let it grow out over the past 5 weeks. The unibomber had nothing on me  And the eyebrow,s even Albert Einstein would be jealous  So enough was enough and woke up today and got out the cordless waterproof clippers and got rid of the damn beard! Next, got out the actual hairdresser clippers and started to use a #

Has the past month flown by for you too?  It seems like only a little while ago that we were being told to baton down the hatches and start practicing physical distancing. Work days blend into supposedly days off and daily chores and tasks are being done more. As even one member commented, her Dad was washing walls, walls!!!! I see the blogs are starting to really take off. Interesting reading how so many people are dealing with the times as well as their thoughts on it too. Some of your status

Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 29 - Apr. 4)

Well, I'm kind of tired of asking the usual question at the past 3 or 4 updates  As I was looking through the blogs and activity this week, I noticed a couple of things that I thought I'd mention. First off, for anyone reading @Dabeagle's story Corners you will see really high numbers of reviews and likes and overall interaction. I think that with so many of us home bound, Dabeagle has found for the lack of a better expression, a captive audience and growing audience. I also noticed it

Weekl Wrap Up (Mar. 22 - Mar. 28)

So what is new in your neck of the woods? Well I know that the news is something we are watching closely or avoiding due to the nature of it. When I log into GA, I think of all our members in all the different hot zones and hope that all of you are safe, if you in there or anywhere else . I was noticing over the past week that a few pop up topics have arisen in the Lounge to lighten the mood. Maybe pop into the hilarious topic, Make Us Laugh #2. Or you could go old school and check out wher

Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 15 - Mar. 21)

So, what is new in your neck of the woods? I'm sure that you all have some stories, some frustrations, some concerns, some fears and and lots of other things on your mind. With the pandemic in full swing in basically the whole world now, it has to be affecting everyone in at least a small way. My heart goes out to those that can't work, or are laid off, and don't have some kind of social safety net to lessen the blow somewhat. Lets hope that this blog finds you all safe and sound and taking

So, what is new in your neck of the woods ? I guess we all are being impacted no matter where we are in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking at the status updates on site, many if not all of you have had some disruption of our normal day to day lives. I did a search, and ended up in Wikipedia, and according to them (not to be construed as 100% factual) that the last pandemic that rolled across our planet was the HIV AIDS one, and one we are living with, and IMHO, started to win final

Ho Hum So is there such a thing as the February Blahs? I mean, the shortest month of the year is going to be one day longer this year and it just means another day of meh. Sorry if your birthday is in February, I'm not calling you boring or anything of the such . Maybe it is because the anxiousness of waiting for spring to be sprung for the Northern Hemisphere. Weekly Wrap Up (Jan.27 - Feb. 1)

Well happy February all! I'm in another great mood tonight  So please just humour me for a bit. See, my hockey team got their butts handed to them on the scoreboard tonight  As most of you know, I live in Calgary and our arch rivals are in the other major city in Alberta, Edmonton. So back in the 80's and 90's, the two teams had games that were legendary for everything good, and some bad, in hockey. After 20 years, both teams are both relevant again to each others and the game tonight was a

Huh! I was snuggled into bed with the music of Rent going on in my head (guess what I partially watched tonight ) when I said to myself, 'Self, did you do the weekly update tonight?' Needless to say I had not. So here I am well past my bedtime and thinking if there is anything for a preamble. Since I'm in shut down mode already, I guess not. I don't even have a knock knock joke for you all  So why don't we jump into the wrap up right away! Monday, Cia was out with a new Classic Author

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 12 - Jan. 18)

Well the Great White North is living up to it's name this week. Snow hurricanes in St John's, and in Atlantic Canada. Huge amounts of snow have fallen in central parts and the the Prairies have been gripped all week in -40 weather. Even the nice green lower mainland of BC is covered in snow and the travel is not recommended. Still, Australia is burning in some areas and other areas next door are flooding.  Okay, the localized weather forecast is completed and I really should get to wrapping

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 05 - Jan. 11)

Well I'm in a good mood I just finished watching a hockey game that came out the right way   I don't know about you, but do you come to GA for a mood change? What am I talking about? Well this week has had me thinking about a lot of things, Australia burning, Eastern North America in tornadoes, rain and freezing rain. The Royal family in turmoil (okay, so I like the Royal Family, shoot me ). A passenger plane accidentally being shot down in Iran and 100's of lives lost. With that all going on,

Well Carlos said it first. Wayne said it second. So I'm going to say it as well Happy New Year to each and everyone of you from all the staff here at GA!!! We look forward to the upcoming year to see where our little corner of the internet will grow and expand with everyone here along for the ride! I think one of the main New Year's resolution this year was not to make any resolutions at all. And that is the best idea I've heard in years Cia wandered in on Monday in her flowing cloaks, ca
