Weekly Wrap Up (May 15 - May 21)

Not much to say this weekend, so we will go with the facts, just the facts ma'am  Well, I guess I can ask since in Canadia and other Commonwealth countries I do believe this is a long weekend, any plans? Kick off summer bbq's or parties? I know the US of A has theirs next weekend which is much smarter. One more week for things to warm up  So what are the plans next weekend for all my American friends? Jumping right in, Monday was an announcement by Cia of our new Classic Author Feature:

Weekly Wrap Up (May 8 - May 14)

I think I'm going to start out today wrap up with a question for you all  Are you superstitious? This past Friday was Friday the 13th  Did anything untoward happen to you? Were you worried something might happen to you? If, and there probably isn't a lot of us, you like sports do you have rituals or things you do on game day or right before the game? If you wear a shirt or something before an event and the outcome isn't positive, do you avoid that piece of clothing going forward. My Ca

Weekly Wrap Up (May 1 - May 7)

What a week it has been! We had May 1st, 4th and 5th all wrapped within the week! So before I get into N'Sync (as I was so rudely corrected about), May the Force, and Cinco De Mayo, I want to announce that spring has finally showed it's face where I live. The trees are budding, the flowers are popping up out of the ground, the bunnies are hopping around, the skunks are tooting . Also rain predicted for the rest of the week. Well, it is nice to finally catch up to most of you in the North America

Well like the Backstreet Boys sung, It's Gonna be May  Seriously, listen to this song and tell me I'm wrong     In other news, I have had my spiel with Covid  Not an enjoyable week so far, but getting better. I really do feel sorry for everyone that has loss loved ones, had Covid themselves, or had it multiple times. Then some of you have fallen into the long haul group. I just hope that everyone continues to get through this and move on to bigger and better things   Loo

Weekly Wrap Up (Apr. 17 - Apr. 23)

I've been sitting here at the computer staring at it for about 10 minutes  Is this what writers block is to all you authors out there? Not like I'm creating anything that will be talked about, reviewed, commented on or anything like what you all put out there day after day. I'm sure the Writers Circle has a ton of topics on how to get over writers block and then I think of all the interviews Cia has done where she asks Authors what they do to tackle this hurdle or get in the mood . Just is

Happy Easter!!!! I couldn't find any Easter Bunnies in our membership (sorry if I missed you), so I asked another member to help us out with a selfie of how they look on Easter morning   Now before you go and find her droppings around your house  you know the ones, the little brown chocolate ones. Or maybe you are lucky enough to get a big one  No matter what you did or didn't get, shall we see what gifts the GA Blog gave us this week? Tuesday was our time to get a review fr

Weekly Wrap Up (Apr. 3 - Apr. 9)

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, or Good Night! No matter how you look at it, I'm late  A big thank you to Cia for stepping in last week to do the Wrap Up for me! I'm just going to just go with the facts today, not too much more . On Monday, after working on Sunday, Cia introduced us to an all new Can't Stop Reading Feature: Then on Wednesday, it was the fist one of the month! This meant Aaron dropped by with another great episode of Ask An Author: Thursday was anothe

Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 27 to Apr. 2nd)

Wildone figured out a way to make the Weekly Wrap Up new this week, he went on a trip... so I'm doing it! Do you think he had that plan already in the works last week?🤨 Well, I'll have you know I spent my first Saturday of Spring Break on a day trip, and for once the coast was B-E-A-uuuutiful! Take a peek in the spoiler below if you want to see. But I'm back to bring you all the news you might have missed, salt-soaked skin and all. Wave to the crusty crab we found peeking out in the tide pools!

So what can I do to make the Weekly Wrap Up different this week?  I could ask someone else to do it  Or, I can throw everything in the blender and see what it comes out as   So no usual Sun to Mon this week and in order, lets see what happens. Also, tonight I will be watching one of the greatest rivalries in sports, not basketball , not baseball not football (either kind) , but the coolest sport on earth, ice hockey The rivalry is between the Edmonton Oilers *spit* and the Calgary Flames *Y

Well it appears that there is a lot of US Senators that seem to partake in GA Authors, and read the Weekly Wrap Up  Why you ask? After last weeks highly controversial wrap up where I asked everyone's opinion of Daylight Savings and Standard Time, it appears the US Senate were closely watching the discussion and decided to vote for year round Day Light Savings Time  The majority here I believe wanted to scrap it, and that is what they did. Cia won't be happy as the better time is to stay on Stand

First off, a PSA. If you live in one of the areas of the globe that has daylight savings time and you spring your clocks forward, but forgot to last night... YOU'RE LATE Well now that is out of the way, I wonder how many tens of you will be awake enough to read this week's riveting edition of the GA Weekly Wrap Up I know I'm going back to bed right after I get up  I've also thrown in a little poll to gauge everyone's feelings towards this biannual occurrence. Well howdy ho good neighbours   So let me start off to say that all the blogs and comments from some of the Northern Hemisphere peeps stating that spring is starting to show up or it's coming... STOP  In my neck of the woods March and April I believe are our heaviest snowfall months of the years. Get a huge dump, melts off a few days later, huge dump, melts off a few days later, repeat. I sure we sell more windshield (windscreen  ) washer fluid than most places in the next two months.

Cooo, loo, coo, coo, coo, coo, coo, coooo!   Cooo, loo, coo, coo, coo, coo, coo, coooo! Take off you hosers!!! If you under the age of 40, and never watched SCTV or not Canadian, you probably have no clue what I'm quoting and wondering also what I'm drinking too! Although SCTV was moved to the US after a lot of years of success in Canada, I think it was the precursor to SNL but not sure how many watched it. I'll put in a post below a clip of this video that I was just serenad

Well Howdy  I'm in a great mood today! Why? In most provinces of Canada we have a stat holiday on Monday that is called in most places, Family Day  I know my American cousins to the south can't believe how many stat holidays that we have up here. I don't think so  So here is my rundown of stat holidays in Alberta which is the province I live in. New Year's Day - January 1st Family Day - 3rd Monday of February  Good Friday - changes yearly Easter Sunday (not an actual stat day, bu

💝💞🥰😻 Happy Valentines Day Eve 💜❤️💛🫀 Well enough of that   Now I'm curious, is there a story that you read here at GA, or maybe not, that is nothing less than an amazing love story? Is there a story that you have written that is your idea of being one of the greats?  I know we all have been challenged as authors and poets to try a different genre when writing. So how about we challenge our readers here on the site to try a genre of love stories. Just need a list started to get us a

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 30 - Feb. 05)

Wow, what a week it has been for me   First I was back to work. I did not take up the offers of my peers to get a shotgun in my face or get pushed over Niagara Falls  Actually I had a pretty good week doing nothing  I'm all for that  So this week I did all the things that I put off all week last week: laundry, bills, cleaning, trying to pick out new flooring. Whew, you're lucky I'm not in bed catching up on my sleep since I'm so tired  Or maybe you wish I was in bed   First week of the

Now just in case you started this and maybe forgot , tomorrow is the last day to get your entry in for the Newsletter Genre Challenge. If you did and just need to put your finishing touches on it, make sure to get it done today! What to do, what to do, what to do? The company that I work for has a fiscal year of May to April. So our holiday calendar year is also May to April. Turns out that I actually have 4 weeks to use up, due to carryovers. I'm thinking I'm going to carry over 2 again and try to use them in the summer. But now that I'm off this upcoming week, I have nothing really to do . I thought of visiting @Krista in Kentucky, but it is warmer up here right now . That and the promise, "If you show your face

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 9 - Jan. 15)

Can you believe we are half the way through January  From my eyes and ears on the ground, I hear that some of the cold from Siberia to Canada has now hit down towards the south of the USA and Europe and beyond. So how is it in your neck of the woods? Any snow ball fights? Making snow angels? Is your dog refusing to go outside to do their business?  Well I promise we won't send the cold freezing weather to our friends in Australia and New Zealand  Well we had a slow week to start the GA Blog

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night if you are heading to bed 🛌 I wonder how many of you did the age old tradition of making New Year's resolutions. We are 9 days into the New Year and I'm also curious if you are still maintaining your resolution, or has it fell by the wayside already 😮 I know of one person who is trying really, really hard to keep up their resolution, but wonder if is good for their mental health. I mean, they have been on the earth for nearly 4 decad

Wow, this blog is going to cover A LOT of stuff. After all we are going to cover last year as well as this year too ! But if you were like me, it seems harder to remember the good stuff from last year, which there was, from the bad stuff . But we are in a new year with new expectations . I would like to remember a good friend of GA and to many on a more personal level as well, the passing of Comicfan. So Steve, why are you blasting 80's hair band music so early on a Sunday morning?  Well, technically you have only 5 days left for buying your Christmas Presents (including mine) before the day the big fat jolly guy comes around 🎅  That brings up another topic... Well hopefully you all have calmed down after me getting a lot of our pet peeves with Christmas romance movies off of our chests   This week, let's turn things right upside down 🙃 Shall we check our Story Goals, see how we are doing 11 days into December? How about the Words of the Day? Actually Aditus kind of laid down a challenge with the Words of the Day. Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 28 - Dec. 4)

Okay, let me put my grinch hat on   Has anyone got sick of the shall we call them 'Lifetime' Christmas movies?  I mean, they are all basically the same story, just different actors and slightly different stories. But there is always a woman, who has a male adversary at the beginning. The scheming and cajoling and finally they admit they are in love with each other and everything survives what was in peril at the start of the movie.  The bakery, the Christmas tree farm, shall I go on? Okay,
