Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 22 - Dec. 28)

It appears that the holiday season is starting to wind down. So if you celebrated exchanging gifts, what did you get that made you the most happy? Myself, I got a PS4. Now I'm not an avid gamer at all, but I leaned towards the PS4 as I believe @Myr has an Xbox, and if I got one he would be CONSTANTLY bugging me to play with him in Dora the Explorer, Special Adventures So what did you actually get? I'm curious   Before I forget, I want to wish everyone, your family and friends all the

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 15 - Dec. 21)

It looks like this will be the last weekly update before Christmas 🎅. So what constitutes a white Christmas you ask? In Canada it is 2 cm (.79 inch) of snow on the ground at 7 AM on Christmas Day, the US is 2.5 cm (1 inch) and the UK it is one snowflake observed falling anywhere in the UK . Obviously there is parts of the world that won't see or ever see a white Christmas, mainly most areas of the Southern Hemisphere. I'm also thinking about our friends in Australia that are fighting sever fires

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 8 - Dec. 14)

So shall we start with a weather update Today was the first day this week where it didn't snow. And it was cold 🥶 I'm thinking my Australian and Southern Hemisphere friends need to have a visitor Anyone has a couch I can borrow for a month or two? Shall we look at the Weekly Renee Wrap Up this week. Someone was busy   Monday, Renee brought us a Featured Story from @mollyhousemouse on a story by @Mikiesboy Wednesday, who wants to have some fun with Author Guess Who? Thur

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 1 - Dec. 7)

Anyone who doesn't celebrate the Christmas season, unfortunately is going have tolerate us that do for the next 3 weeks 🎅 We had our department Christmas Party at work yesterday and there was about 30 of us all out for a late lunch and a Secret Santa draw. Everyone had a person they were supposed to buy for with a $20 limit. Our department is maybe 60/40 female to male, but it was great to see that everyone put in an effort to get something that reflected the person that they bought for. Bi

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 24 - Nov. 30)

Like in Independence Day....Hello Boys! I'm baaaaaaaack Well, also you gurls, actually everyone! Thank you Renee for taking my place last week So I'm dried out from last weekend, which is a good thing! Last weekend I was at a football game, outdoors and it was hovering around 0C or 32F. Quite pleasant football weather (oh, North American Football I should say). Now this weekend, -30C or -22F, and I'm not enjoying this weather 😠 I'm thinking of all of you in Florida, or Australia or e

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov 17 - Nov 23)

Wow, it's been quite a while since I've done one of these, but @wildone asked if I could fill in this week, and I told him I'd give it my best. Between life with a little one, and many other things going on, I just want to give a huge Thank You to Steve for continuing to do the Weekly Wrap Up's for me!!!  Currently, it's getting our Christmas light show set up and ready to go by December 1st (have you ever tried to make 7 pvc stars and wrap them in lights?), among chasing a 16 month old Baby J a

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 10 - Nov. 16)

Not really much of a preamble out of me tonight. I will give everyone a heads up that Renee will be returning next week to do the Weekly Wrap up for me, as I know for a fact that I will be indisposed one week from tonight 🍻 🍹 🍷  So be gentle to with her, and especially you, @Valkyrie, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all. That should apply to you regarding me but for some reason I know it will be a freezing cold day in hell when that happens On Monday, Cia popped in

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 3 - Nov. 9)

Well I look outside and it is yet snowing again! This is the 3rd time it has snowed this week, but this time it is actually going to get cold. You all can think of me as I go to the Western Semi Final of the Canadian Football League between my Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! Will still be snowing tomorrow at game time and with the windchill it will be a balmy -22 C (7.6F). Add in fact that it is getting dark out at 4:50 PM now, it should be a great day!!! I think I shall imbib

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 27 - Nov. 2)

Every week we have different blogs featured here on the GA News Blog. For the past month and a half, Thursdays have been used to feature a past Anthology or Contest with new stories from that feature spread out over a month. This blog is done by the omnipotent one, the big kahuna, the big cheese, the master of all, the seerer of all things GA, aka @Myr Well I didn't happened to notice this past Thursday that Myr's anthology blog wasn't featured on Thursday 😮 and not until Thursday night.T

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 20 - Oct. 26)

Wow, I didn't even realize it was Saturday night going onto Sunday morning in my here parts! But then again, for some reason I didn't realize we were in the last week of October too 😮 Halloween on Thursday, and then November on Friday, we are well on our way to wrapping up 2019 and into the 2020's Before I get looking too far into the future, the meaning of the wrap up to do a visit of the past, so let's look what happened here the past week on the GA News Blog. Monday, Cia brought us

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct.6 - Oct.12)

Good Day Everyone! This is Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend, and I'm a little messed up on what day it is It is like I forgot that today is  Sunday. Oh well. Here is what happened in these parts of GA this past week. On Monday, Cia introduced us all to the October CSR feature:   Then on the Tuesday, Renee gave us another edition of the Author Guess Who:   Thursday, Mr. Myr was back with a round of Anthologies from 2014.   Friday, was Comicfan's chanc

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept.29 - Oct.5)

Sorry folks, no weekly update this week. Carry on with your daily activities and God Save the Queen. Okay, so I was saying to a ex GA'er friend that I had nothing to write about to start the Weekly Wrap Up and he suggested that I couldn't do that to you all So here is a look at what happened over the past week! Monday, it was CSR discussion day where Cia chatted with @northie Then on Wednesday, it was the first one of the month and the blog was turned over to Carlos:

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept 22 - Sept 28)

Today is a day that I was not looking forward to If you look at the little pictures at the top of this blog, you will see who has posted in this blog, and how many times, I have been dreading this day for about six months, maybe more. I told Renee that it would be hard to surpass Trebs and move ahead of him on this blog. So who is Trebs? For those of you that have joined over the last five years here on GA, Trebs or Robert, was a Admin and on the board of CDEJR Services, he was

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept.15 - Sept 21)

So am I normal? Now before the usual peanut gallery jumps in with a resounding YES (or is that NO), let me explain. Today, for a Saturday I was bored. I played on the computer, I cleaned the condo, I took the car for a wash, and still was bored. So I flicked on the TV and started going through the hundreds of channels and nothing really appealed to me. Next I turned on Prime Video, nope, nothing caught my fancy. Then it was over to Netflix. Well they are featuring a movie that I have

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 8 - Sept. 14)

So I was thinking this week . Does that make everyone cringe? Today when I wrote this up. it is the 14th, so just a reminder to you all that we are now 10 days from my birthday and tomorrow will be 3 months away from Christmas. Now I don't want all of you all to fret and worry over having to get me pressies for both celebrations in the next 3 months! I know you all were planning on spending at least $50 Canadian ($12.50 US) on each present, so why don't you combine the two and each of y

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 1 - Sept. 7)

The first week of September has arrived and things are a changing! I've notice a bit of a uptick in the forums and stories and also feeling a change in the weather and length of days. I never understood how people who live closer to the equator have little to no deviation in the length of days. Just seems strange to me . Then the further you go south or north towards the poles, you get longer days/shorter nights and visa versa as the equinoxes are reached. But then again, it would be strange to

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug.25 - Aug 31)

I wonder if you are the same as me. Do you like being lied to on a consistent basis? I think not!! So why do we plan our days according to the local weather person? All week up to and including last night and this morning, they said this Labour Day Long Weekend would be mainly sunny with a chance of brief showers on Monday. Fair enough. So this morning, I get up, shower, put on suntan lotion because the also said the UV Index was going to be high. Dress in shorts, t-shirt and sandals and of

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 18 - Aug. 24)

First off, I need to remind everyone that they have one month to go out and buy me my birthday present Well we are about to head into the last month of the 'Summer Months' in North America. I know the southern states kids, teens and adults are back in skewl and the northern ones and Canada are about to head back in about a week. Not totally clear on how Europe works  Summer here is also a time where we slow down at GA. With College/University Students home for the summer and working or suc

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 11 - Aug. 17)

So I really have nothing to talk about this week in the Weekly Update preamble, so I thought I would throw out a joke and some useless trivia Why did the chicken cross the playground? Did you know that giraffes only need 5 to 30 minutes of sleep in a 24 hour period They often achieve that in quick naps that may last only a minute or two at a time! Now, onto what happened around these parts this week! Monday, Renee gave us a great story review from @Puppilull: Wednes

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 4 - Aug. 10)

I had an idea today I think we should start a swap your life club here at GA! Why you ask and how? Well, we all live in a area that seems to be effected by the weather right now around the world, so what if you could trade lives with another member that wants your weather for a bit. So @Slytherin for example says she is too cold in the wild north of Scandinavia and @Daddydavek says he is burning up in the Mid West of the US. Well, those two will swap places for a week or two But this mea

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 28 - Aug. 3)

So no surprise this week. Hopefully you all have been keeping up to date with Shark Week   I have a lot of respect for all the parents out there, I just got back from 5 days of camping in the Rockies with my 3 nephews under the age of 12 with no power or internet or even cell phone coverage  Well now that I'm sure that some of you are digesting that horror of that last statement, shall we see what has happened while I was out playing with bears, mountain lions, and cougars (and 3 kids).

Well to follow up with another update, I'm still here So let's make it short and sweet this week, and maybe there will be a surprise next week Monday, Renee brought us a great Featured Story which was reviewed by @Parker Owens Then on Tuesday, we had a bit of a celebration going on here at GA, when Graeme introduced our newest Promising Author: Finally Friday, had Wayne bring us another couple of prompts from his prompt cupboard   Anthologies 2019 Fall A

I have an announcement to make, I'm out of here!! Well now that the cheering and clapping has died down, I'll just say it is a temporary reprieve from Steve . I'm on 2 weeks summer holidays and may or may not be around too much.  So shall we look back on the week that we have had here at the GA Blog? On Monday, Cia danced in to give us this month's Classic Author Feature:   On Wednesday she sashayed back in to give us the Classic Author Excerpt: Finally on Friday

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 7 - Jul. -13)

So I was down at the Stampede tonight to about 12:30 am  and I met this nice couple from Australia. I asked if they knew @Graeme, but surprisingly they did not   They decided to come over here for their winter and our summer  When I asked them where they were from, they said Wagga Wagga, NSW . I thought to myself, self, why does Australia have such funny names? Then I thought it my be Aboriginal names, and who am it to judge? Here in the Great White North, we have Moosejaw, and here's a tongue t
