so, how's it hangin'?

I just had to blog about this. I told myself, 'Chase, wait a week or two then blog something, stop blogging so much it'll make them think you spend to much time on the computer' well f**kers, I'm not, but still, I couldn't pass up this opportunity to show you how incredibly hilarious my life is.   I love awkward moments. They make the best ice breakers at parties and if you haven't seen somebody in a long time and lets say you gave each other hand jobs and blow jobs all throughout high school

Act Like an Adult...

So it seems recently that some people around here cannot seem to play well with others. Take it from me. Calling people names or publicly attacking them is not the answer. There's no reason to go around calling people names simply because you disagree with them. I realize that people have different views on things. That's a good thing. I don't expect people to agree with me about everything. I learned the hard way about what can happen when one goes too far. At one time, some people even wanted

Rules of Disengagement

So there's this girl I used to work with.   We used to be close, but she had problems with her boyfriend and started pushing everyone away. Then, when one of the girls in her dept stated the obvious (i.e. dump him, he's a dick), it all ended in a rather fiery confrontation. I believe her exact words were "The only reason we fight is because of all the f**king stress at work". I believe the other girl's exact words were "You tell yourself that, honey." And then, psycho girl stopped talking to

Changes. Good or Bad?

Are you the type of person who shows people you care about them by being mean to them? But wait, you're not trying to be mean, but you just end up doing it, but in a joking manner. Yet everyone takes you seriously, and it gets you wondering why you even do it in the first place, because seriously, who wants to be friends with someone who's always teasing you/ being mean to you right?   Well I am this type of person, and I'm trying to change it. It just seems like I'm pushing the people I car

Thoughts on "Chronicles of an Academic Predator Series"

When I started writing Chronicles of an Academic character, my goal was to create a lead character (JP) who was smart and rich enough to surf through the era of the early sixties and experience the events of that time without being consumed by them. To do that, I needed a stoic, impervious character, someone who had a lot of secrets and buried them deep within and who thus was constantly guarded and deliberate.   The response I got from readers was like a fuel to me, motivating me through t

My dogs

Melody is on the left, Zoe is on the right   Two important updates... Healthwise - I'm doing really well. My last appointment with my doctor two weeks ago went well, and I have another followup next Wed. She was very happy with my progress when I saw her - and said I was actually doing better than expected for this point. Today is the 51st day since my transplant - and basically at day 60, my case transfers from my Stanford doctor back to my local oncologist - so next Wed should be the la

Gay Challenged

How can I say this without being offensive?   If gay people went to gay school, I would ride the gay short bus.   I must be the most incompetent gay man in North America.   I would rather hunt than shop.   When I'm in a new city, I check out the hardware stores to see if they have magical kung-fu tools that I've never seen before.   My wardrobe has more in common with Walmart and Target than Pierre Cardin or Brooks Brothers.   I drive a truck with a big steel toolbox that has everyth

Racist sentiments (no, not my own)

On the news, they talked about these people who work for the Grand Prairie Police Department. Apparently, an email was going around, one that contained an image of Air Force 1 with the N word on it, you know the really bad one that rhymes with bigger? Anyway, my mom said she had seen the email in question and thought it was funny. This makes me sad that she would find it funny, especially when she's supposedly befriended black people before. I don't find it funny at all.

80's tribute

I subscribe to a channel on You Tube called Rhett and Link (I think I spelled it right). Anyway, they pretty much do all original stuff, and I thought this tribute to the 1980's was hilarious. BTW, I sent chapter two of my new story off to Steph, and as soon as she can, she's gonna get it posted. She's not feeling well so there's been a slight posting delay...no big deal. BTW, I don't have any beta readers for this story (except for Talonrider, my editor, who reads the chapters as he works on th

Yet another driving rant

This is what I encountered today while driving on the freeway:   A woman driving a white Lexus RX 350 SUV for about five miles with her left blinker flashing while she talked on her cell phone. She was blond.

What is love?

Love.   Call me a cynic, but I've never really understood society's obsession with 'love'.   I mean, I can understand physical attraction (mmm... let's engage in sexual intercourse), I can understand attachment (let's engage in sexual intercourse... again), and I can understand companionship (let's engage in sexual intercourse AND conversation), but what is this 'love' that we all aspire to?   I wouldn't ask, but I'm working on Chapter Six at the moment, and I'm beginning to realise that '

Out with the old, in with the new

Although I'm not quite ready for it, the new story is coming up out of the depths of my imagination.   Sci-Fi this time. In the far distant future on a planet far, far away.   People live long lives due to nanotechnology's ability to continuously keep their bodies vibrant and viable. The protagonist, Martello Conger, dreams of living long enough to become King of the Planet even though he is seventy-third in line and realistically has little hope of achieving that august title. Barring some

What to do?

I am not sure what to do...   The Red Cross constantly calls me to donate blood... however, I cannot, unfortunatly give my blood, because I have had sex with another guy... What should I do?   I understand that they need the blood, but it is there fault that I cannot give blood, and it annoys me that they keep calling me and I have to keep lying to them.

Are Old People Sages?

So I conducted a week-long seminar this week. The group was diverse in age, from young people just out of college to older people beyond 65. We were having a discussion and one of the older guys got into it with a younger woman. The topic was unimportant, but the undertones of their debate were.   The young lady stated her opinions logically, based on facts, and was quite impressive. The older man based his on perceptions. His attitude was one of condescension, his overall message being

Clothes shopping.

So I've been giving myself a bit of a makeover lately.   My dress standards had never been all that terrible but, somewhere along the line, jeans and hoodies had become my default setting. And it was getting shit. And I was getting lazy. And god forbid, I was looking like some generic, suburban hetero. Like I should be in line at McDonalds, or walking to the newsagent to buy a copy of Sports Illustrated.   Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.   So armed with my tax refund and a wad of cash I'd been saving up (

Drinking song!

So this evening I have been drinking a little!   Here is a song that I wrote!   I was walking on the river on the other side of town! (The Town!) I was walking on the river on the other side of town! (The Town!) I was walking on the river on the other side of town, and I drowned ( I drowned!), because I'm not Jesus (JEE-SUS!).   I sing the main part, and my friend sings the () part.   Cool, huh?     Happy days!   Good night and good luck!   Heel yeah!

Take a picture, get a ticket

Speed cameras, those cameras that take a picture of your car when you're speeding..they suck. When these things first made their debut around here, they were set up at intersections to catch people who ran stop lights. That seemed reasonable. Fair even.   But then they started using them to catch people speeding, and that doesn't seem fair at all. I've always felt there was this implicit agreement about speed limits. They were kept artificially low, to make sure that the little old lady w

Evacuate the Dance floor

Going to try and keep this brief. No use in prattling on about nothing.   So we went to LA to this gay club; Tigerheat. It is incredibly gay, beyond gay, tranny's, twinks, whatever is thin, blonde and is wearing a V neck. Its all there.   I'll be discussing a few things; 1) Clubbing/Scene 2) My "type" 3) Conclusion   1) Clubbing/Scene: I like clubbing, It is like a drug. It comes in good doses, but you can't OD cause YOU'LL DIE. I have not been to a club in maybe 4 months and going to this

I Took Lacey's Color Test...

Tim's Existing Situation   "Organized and detail-oriented, he has a very precise and methodical manner. He needs relationships which offer him understanding, respect, and approval."   Tim's Stress Sources   "Needs to meet people who have the same high principals and values as himself, but finds the need unfulfilled. His need to feel dominate and superior leaves him feeling isolated and does not allow for him to give freely of himself. He would like to surrender and let go, but sees that as
