    2025 Anthology - Big Announcement!

    By Valkyrie

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Joyous Kwanzaa to all who celebrate! I'm still in a bit of a food coma from Christmas dinner, but I wanted to bring a reminder and also some important news for next year's anthology.  First, submissions for Carlos' tribute event are due tomorrow, so be sure to put the finishing touches on your stories and post the link in the thread in the Writer's Circle.  Second, I decided to do things a little differently this year, and instead of having a committee decide

Writing Tip: Less Is More

Libby Drew has been great in providing us with content for the GA News Blog and continues to bring us some wonderful articles on the art of writing. I hope you all enjoy this lesson that she took the time to put together for us. Less is More   That thing I say all the time, how less is more? It applies to your characters too.   Less detail makes for more believable characters.   Carlton entered the room. Six feet tall, broad-shouldered, he wore a finely tailored three-piece pinstri

Featured Story: Guitars And Crossdressers

As some might have noticed, I have taken a more active role in the GA News Blog. I will continue to do so while Robert (aka Trebs) is taking care of his health and wish him all the best in his recovery. With that being said, I don't know about anyone else, but I always enjoy having a story brought to my attention that I haven't yet read. That's what Monday's on the Gay Authors News Blog is all about. Whether it's as part of the CSR Book Club or whether it's in the form of a review. Today, we've

Writing Prompts #210 & #211

TGIF! Thank goodness it's Friday and we all know that means prompts! Check out this week's inspirations from our lovely prompt guru, Comicfan.   Prompt 210: As if things didn't go wrong normally, you were killed accidentally this morning when a bus driver swerved on a wet road to avoid a kitten and plowed right into the coffee shop where you were waiting to get your morning coffee. Instead of a trip to heaven or hell, you are met and told you are actually going to work as grim reaper. What is

Wacky Wednesday: Ask An Author #1

Dark came to us a while ago about an idea he had to ask some of the authors here the questions that readers were wondering. We thought it was a great idea and will now be doing a once a month feature of Ask an Author. If you have a question that you have been wanting to ask an author and, for one reason or another, haven't already asked, let Dark know and maybe he'll be able to get that answer for you! Without further ado, let's look at the first feature of Ask an Author! Ask an Author #1

Personal Announcement: For those of you who have been following my health status, here is the short story version - I may be more absent from GA depending on my upcoming treatments. The best part of that though is a recent test confirms that I am IN REMISSION (ie, no current trace of Mantle Cell Lymphoma - so the chemo worked). My sister comes in later tonight for two weeks, the first week will be tests to confirm she's healthy enough to be a donor, then the second week to stimulate production o
