What am I thankful for... several things this year, but the most important one was the new friends and family here on GA. My Uncle and I went to Metropolitan Ministries and donated several bags of canned food. They have this annual drive for Thanksgiving and Christmas and feed thousands across the Bay Area. At Christmas, they even give toys to needy families. I believe it's three toys for each child in the family. 

Find a local charity that you can donate to. Be it canned or non-perishable food, cash, new and slightly used clothes, new toys, clean new socks (the most asked for item), and personal hygiene products.

I'm thankful I have a happy, healthy infant grandson who smiles everytime he sees me.  P.S.  Thanksgiving is November 22nd in the U.S.

I'm with you, Dave. I am a lucky man too, in that regard. I have a ten year old grandson, a granddaughter who will be a year in January, a new grandchild on the way, and I gain a new two-year-old grandson from my son's partner.   Unfortunately, my granddaughter made strange with me on her last visit, but she was all smiles as long as her mommy held her.

And yes... we should all donate and support those in need when we can.  

I’m thankful for my family. Baby J is the biggest blessing we could ask for. 

We we do a food drive for the local food bank as part of our light show. We started it last year and hoping this year will be even more of a success.

my "Thankful" list would be longer than this blog!

i'm grateful for my wonderful Husband, for my family of choice, and all the friendships that GA has brought into my life

if you are going to donate to a local food bank, don't forget things like diapers, feminine hygiene supplies, and laundry detergent.

there were months i was more grateful for the gallon zip-top bag of laundry detergent than i was for the cans of beans!

I’m not from USA and we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Sweden, many swedes emigrated to America and left us behind   I like your holiday though and who can say no to turkey  

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, I think we should, and I'd like to add my two penny worth.

Although in many respects I've not had that good of a year I've still many things to be thankful for, too many to list. But what I am especially thankful for is that I am in a position where, although I am not especially wealthy, I am in a position where I can share what I do have, and this I happily do. I am also thankful for having had someone special in my life who loved and supported me and made me who I am today.

It's sort of a mixed bag, but here goes.

I am thankful to still be here,  for a doctor who spotted an issue and had me go to a surgeon. For a good surgeon who helped me survive a triple bypass.

I am thankful for having met a man who was a close friend until his passing. He has left a mark on my heart that I'll carry to my grave.

I'm thankful for also knowing a young soldier, who did what he could. He too will be remembered.

I'm thankful for family and friends who have rallied around me and each other with love and support.

I'm thankful that I'll get to spend part of Thanksgiving day with my father before I have to work my retail job.

Finally, I'm thankful that I was able to donate to the foodbank for those with less.
