Jay Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I don't think that Dom really wants to end this one. He will, but maybe not until he is ready to got with the follow on story.
mikejay223 Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 I really think this is my favorite of Dom's stories. I've been trying to figure out why I like this story and it's characters so much. I think it is the family setting and how these brothers are now pulling together to make a family without their parents. Dom you truely do have a gift, keep it up, and Thanks!!! Mike Jay

Mike Jay <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mike, I still get teary eyed when I re-read the first chapter of TLW. The part where Owen wakes up in the hospital, see's his brother and sobs 'Tony'. That was the start of Owen's new life with his 'family'. Dom had me hook, line, and sinker at that point. Vic the Domaholic
Tim Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 It was one morning a few weeks back that I stumbled on The Log Way while on Nifty. Like Vic, chapter one had me addicted. That was some great writing! I was so into the story that I called off work that day. After reading that story, I decided to follow the link to Dom's site and officially became a "Domaholic". I love all of his stories.
NaperVic Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 ... I was so into the story that I called off work that day. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tim, missing work to read TLW? I LOVE IT! You truly are a Domaholic, no need for you to take the written exam. I'm sending you the decoder ring right now! Vic the Domaholic
dkstories Posted April 27, 2005 Author Posted April 27, 2005 Missing work is the true sign of an addiction. As for me...I do tell Grandma to not bother me whenever there is a new chapter. Lord help her if she ever falls down while I'm reading a chapter...
lobaiga Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I have my own shop and I opened late today just to read Service. Did not need any customers bothering my reading. Lore

dkstories Posted April 27, 2005 Author Posted April 27, 2005 If you read my blogs you'd know of which I speak. As for the long way, I just figured out why he hasn't wrapped this up, thanks to a little help from Vic. You see, Dom likes to hand us plates of misery to chew on with each chapter. By the time we're done, he's handing us another plate. The problem with finishing a story is that he can't hand us any NEW plates of misery and he can't figure out how to write a chapter without doing that!

Just wish Dom could post more often It drives me crazy waiting for chapters, but ive been informed it gets easier with time.......... Im yet to trust that advice..

Im yet to trust that advice.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DaveScott, you and the other new Domaholic's have it so much easier than we had. You know in advance that there is a gap between chapters (could be up to 10 days). For us veterans, Dom started us off with Daily chapters of TLW. For the first 5 or so chapters, they were coming out once a day. I still remember the day when he gave us a chapter of TLW in the afternoon, and then one later in the evening. Ahhh, the good old days! But like a good drug dealer, Dom gave us all those free and frequent samples to get us hooked  . Then the chapter's started coming out more infrequently :-( So yes my young apprentice, it does get easier over time. Just be happy you weren't around during the dark days. Vic the Domaholic

Just to add a little salt to my wounds just remember when Dom posts in the evening US time im in my bed sleeping soundly with dreams of stories running through my head, only to wake up the next day too see a story I wont have time to read untill I get home from work 10 hours later...sob sob Even us newbies have our dilemas! lol

Would you happen to have a pic of your fine self wearing a kilt while a fierce wind is a blowin'? Hugs, Conner
Davey Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 So you're a fine Scotsman, are ya, laddie? Would you happen to have a pic of your fine self wearing a kilt while a fierce wind is a blowin'? Well theres a fierce wind blowing right now, maybe i should grab that kilt and catch the breeze!

Of course it's not good when other people want to see me in the day and it's not good for my lecture attendance either! Exams started this last week so I'm having to go back to UK time for a while I'm off to Scotland in a month or so's time for my cousin's wedding. My dad's going to wear a kilt (a result of a drunken bet!) but he's chickening out of the 'traditional' method Oh, and to keep this post vaguely on topic I think TLW's great! Think TOU is my favourite of Dom's though.
Guest spit_it_out4101 Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 OMG, I'm totally the same as well. A few weeks ago, I stumbled across Desert Dropping at Nifty, then decided to follow a link to this website, cuz I liked it so much. Now, I'm finding myself checking to see if there're any new chapters up to twice a day. One time, I read TLW til' three in the morning. I totally fell asleep in history the next morning, but it was worth it
dkstories Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 Here's a suggestion. use the subscribe to this forum function here https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/index.php?showforum=53 You'll get an e-mail whenever a new chapter is posted on Gay Authors. I set it to daily digest so I know once a day if a new chapter is posted. This will let you know when Dom posts a new chapter.
solacelenity Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I first found TLW when it first posted on nifty... and I thought... God's honest truth hear... "Wow! A story about lumberjacks!" See, I think they are kinda sexy and all... LOL! Well, no lumberjacks in the story, but it was a fantastic story nonetheless, so I read it each time it posted. Then, Dom sent me the link to his group at the first of the year, and I joined up ASAP. LOL! There were additional chapters in the waiting, too! Now that was quite a treat. I can see the desire not to end the story, but there are so many possibilities with spin-offs! Lately, though, I have had to skim back through the chapters, as I am starting to forget what has happened... but, it is kinda like discovering it all over again, and I find stuff I missed before. Anyway, that is how I found TLW. It is a great story, though I have decided that DD is better! Love and Peace, Solace
Tim Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I would like to see one of the spin-offs deal with Owen returning to his hometown (just for a day visit) and see what happens when he runs into Nicky. I could kick Owen for not talking to Nicky at the drive-in!
