Site Administrator Graeme Posted December 13, 2009 Site Administrator Posted December 13, 2009 Double Trouble by AltimexisWhen Jason discovers his father is gay and leading a double life, he comes up with a risky plan to end the deception without compromising the life he has with his own boyfriend. :nuke: :nuke: Spoilers Below!!! :nuke: :nuke:
Linxe Termoil Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Talk about a plan that backfired in a big way. Poor kid, I'd be messed up for life if my dad was that big of an A$$hole
Nephylim Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 That was awesome.. as you said yourself.... the best laid plans of mice and men... HAHA.. That could have gone so badly wrong. It was so funny. I was on the edge of my seat... fab story
Tiger Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Strangely enough, I wasn't really that surprised at how it turned out. The mother did not seem like that type to easily be bamboozled like that to begin with.
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted December 14, 2009 Site Moderator Posted December 14, 2009 About the only thing I can say is, I didn't see that coming.
Lugh Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 Snickers. Well at least he got something out of the deal. Nice writing.
Sam Fowler Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Being raised in a family where my mother and I have always suspected that my retired Green Beret father is gay, and myself being at the end of a six year relationship with a married man with two sons in their mid twenties, and a wife who once dreamed her husband and I were having an affair, I can relate. I just think it's a stretch to picture "Ward and June Cleaver" accepting such things so gracefully. Don't get me wrong, it's a great and well written story, and I know of similar relationships. I just don't know of any that are THAT damned happy about it! BUT, like Judy Tenuda says, "It could happen!"
Former Member Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Wow, i just gotta say that that was one of the best short stories that ive ever read, granted that i havent read too many short stories, but that was still head and shoulders above anything else. They make such a cute couple too, just thought i should add that
ricky Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I don't believe it! I had read Double trouble once before and loved it. But it was a very long time ago and on Nifty. Odd that I would look through your list of titles and pick the same one. I enjoy stories of young love and in fact that is what I write. So perhaps that is why I picked that one. I love the style of your writing. Well rounded and thought out. Great depth of character and colorful words that build wordflowers that excite the minds eye. Knowing that I enjoy young love, what of yours would you recommend next? I intend to enjoy them all of course.
uccleman Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I enjoyed the story, as I've enjoyed other stories by this writer, they are well written. But I felt this was much too optimistic, I'm sorry. I think the reality would be a lot of lives messed up and perhaps that would make an even better story. But thanks for the story all the same.
JosephPeters Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Methinks there was not enough angst. On the part of the son that is. He forgave his parents way too easily. I say he should have made them beg for it.
