I dunno... I think it's too much like the original. When you make a cover of something, I feel like you owe it to yourself and the original creator to do something more with it. Something the original artist would not have thought to do themselves.

I think my favourite cover version of this particular song (to my own great surprise because this isn't my genre at all) is probably Dolly Parton's.

And I agree. I really enjoy cover versions that are unique.

I'm not a fan of Dolly's (not usually my genre either) but this isn't too bad a version,  I especially love the banjo's.

Another example of an interesting cover, here's A Perfect Circle's version of Imagine.

Wow.  That was great.  Darker and heavier (I'm not talking about the visual) feel to it.

I've always like the song Jolene because of it's haunting undertones but again, not a fan of Dolly's but Mindy Smith's version I really like.

I love Dolly, but I agree, Mindy Smith's version is amazing.

I've been listening to Chumbawamba a lot. For those who don't know who that is, they had one big hit several years ago that some might recognise. Other than that, they've been through lots of different genres in one way or another, though mostly folk and something akin to punk or ska.

Have some Epic Symphonic Hollywood Power Metal (it's a genre, I kid you not)

Rhapsody, feat. Christopher Lee––Unholy Warcry
