I'm writing a monologue as a response to all the craziness that happened the last few days ...

 

I thought I was the root of all the problems

I thought I needed to come up with a grand gesture to make things right

But I'm on the wrong track ...

I'm just one in the family of many

I am only one of us

You are my friends, all of you

We are a team, as well as a family

Will you not come and help us heal

Will you not come and make us feel

All of the love, the laughter, the joy, the wonder

Of life worth living

Of the words, the stories, the poems

That make us feel, that make us heal

I may have started the ball rolling in the wrong direction

But you, he, she, all of us need the rest of the family, all of you

To help, help me, help us get the ball back on track 

Kick it, grab it, toss it, roll with it

For the ball is hope, hope that we'll come up stronger and better

Are you so hung up on Alek that you would want to force Liam to go back to a guy who has stomped all over his heart so many times? Maybe Liam needs a third choice. One where he doesn’t have to relive the pains of yesterday and has a chance to build a new future without all the baggage Alek brings with him.

The point isn’t whether I’ve been in Alek’s shoes or not. It’s what Liam wants, needs, and feels. Liam doesn’t need to take on a charity case just because he feels sorry for Alek’s situation.
