Site Moderator Popular Post drpaladin Posted January 11, 2016 Site Moderator Popular Post Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) David Bowie was so amazingly talented. He was a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, painter, and a multi-instrumentalist. He died today at 69 after quietly fighting cancer for 18 months. For more than four decades he continued to surprise his fans with his ability to go from one genre to another and his different looks. David Bowie was mysterious and unashamedly androgynous. He made it seem okay to be very different at a time when people just didn't do that. Edited January 11, 2016 by drpaladin 14
Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted January 11, 2016 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) David Bowie was an incredible man. So talented and such an inspiration. I loved his music and his acting. Labyrinth is one of my all-time favorite movies. He will be missed. Edited January 11, 2016 by Valkyrie 9
Bill W Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It seems as if all the people I've watched and enjoyed over the years are leaving us. RIP, David, and thanks for the memories. 1
albertnothlit Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This is so tragic. People who push the boundaries of artistic expression like Mr. Bowie have truly earned their place in history.
Daddydavek Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP! One of the saddest parts of living a long time is to see so many of your heroes die.... Interesting tribute as reported on NBC News dot com: http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/astronaut-pays-tribute-starman-david-bowie-space-n494041 2
Slytherin Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 RIP David Very sad I love many songs, one of my favorite is "Under Pressure" and another is "Life on Mars" Such a talanted man, I'm very sad today 1
rustle Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Bowie was a part of growing up. Some songs I loved, some less so, honestly. I don't think of him as a great musician, or actor, or producer, though he was certainly talented at all of them. The man successfully reinvented himself over and again. He managed to make and remake himself relevant for decades. Maybe his greatest attribute was as a harbinger of style and fashion. Musical style, lifestyle, appearance, schools of thought. Bowie often sailed in uncharted waters, and shone a light in dark corners. 1
W_L Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Not my generation of music, but he was a real talent Reach for the stars, David Bowie! RIP David Bowie 2
methodwriter85 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I've always loved this tune, and thought if I could nominate a tune that defined the decade of the 1980's, it'd be this one: R.I.P. Bowie! 1
