That's great! What did you get up to? :)

Sorry I missed you, hope you are getting good sleep

Today I did my first wound rounds at work, gross but thrilling.  It was also the managers luncheon day which was fun and delicous.  And I got several more presents bought.  And wrapped.  Though the 3 year old "helped" me wrap hahaha

We always have chinese food.. it was good

It is, and I am so looking forward to having it on Christmas Eve. Oh, and I have been informed that the non-vegans will be having quail for Christmas dinner. Never had that...I wonder, do they taste like chicken?

My recollection (from many years ago) is that there is a similarity to chicken.  They are small enough that you may have your own individual mini-chicken for dinner. :)

That's always fun!  Did the little one get wrapped in tape?  Took me hours to get the stuff out of Wings' hair!

In case you dont know, Starry, winged Wolf is my adult daughter and also  a member here, though she is an infrequent visiter.

Sort of.  All dark meat, a tad stronger than chicken, and all delicious! Small enough to roast one per guest, and assuming they were farm raised usually melt in your mouth tender. And I cannot picture Vegans hunting quail! Is a pretty big concession to serve meat of any kind for most vegans.

He didn't but got tape on every present, the table, and the floor. I managed to distract him by letting him help me write the gift tags ( I then translated his scribble) and he got to put the wrapped gifts under the tree (a place he is normally not permitted next to)

Good morning, everyone! Taking a few minutes to Internet before I have to go food shopping and clean the house a bit for my friend who's coming to dinner.

Most likely they will have looked for meat that's local and organic and humanely raised. Unless they're just vegans for health reasons rather than political ones, in which case, who knows? Quail is delicious anyway.

Off to see Mom this morning. I'm sure she'll say hi to everyone.

I finally figured out why one of my classmates, annoys me. In her mugshot attached to all her posts, is a pic of her giving the "Resting 'Witch'* Face" look. That and the tone of all of all her replies to my posts is very condescending. Granted, it's text, and it's hard to judge tone and intention.

*I think you know the correct word.

solstice Audio pronunciation

noun | SAHL-stiss

Definition

:
either of the two points on the ecliptic at which its distance from the celestial equator is greatest

:
the time of the sun's passing one such point on the ecliptic which occurs about June 21 to begin summer in the northern hemisphere and about December 21 to begin winter in the northern hemisphere

In the Northern Hemisphere, the summer solstice usually occurs on June 20 or 21 and the winter solstice on December 21 or 22. In the Southern Hemisphere, where the seasons are reversed, the solstices are exactly the opposite. For several days around the time of the solstices, the sun's appearance on the horizon at sunrise and sunset seems to occur at the same spot, before it starts drifting to the north or south again. Solstice gets its shine from sol, the Latin word for "sun." The ancients added sol to -stit- (a participial stem of sistere, which means "to stand still") and came up with solstitium. Middle English speakers shortened solstitium to solstice in the 14th century.
