Popular Post dughlas Posted August 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 12, 2020 No BIG10 football this season so that means no Penn State games on those Saturdays I'll be home this fall. In the past I missed most of the games because of working at the faire. Speaking of working at the faire. I had texts this afternoon stating that my friends who own the kilt shop have decided not to open for this season. That pleased both mum and I since it removes a potential source of COVID risk. This Autumn will be like no other. 6

I just googled and noticed they no longer have the Mercedes insignia on the front of them. 3 1

Popular Post Marty Posted August 13, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Happy Thursday, all! Currently around 21C/70F here. Sun and clouds, but dry at laest. About to bring the car to my mechanic. Nothing serious, just new wheel bearings on front drivers side (that's the right-hand side here in Ireland. Hope you all have a great day! Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted August 13, 2020 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted August 13, 2020 It's nice out at the moment, but supposed to get up to 89F today. The cats have a vet appointment today. I'm trying a mobile vet service to see if it's less stressful on everyone. I can't get Joker into a cat carrier, so I'm hoping this will go smoother since there's no need for the carrier. Fingers crossed we all emerge unscathed! 2 4

It's been overcast here most of the day and is forecast to remain so. Current temp is 80/27° but with the tropical humidity it feels like 84/29°. Not expecting it to get much warmer but storms are. We are under a flash flood watch in my area. Mowed my lawn this morning and cleaned up around the edges. It's also trash day so the bin had to be set out. I've decided it's not all the comfortable outdoors. I think we'll head inside. 6

Hey, bro. 31--feels like 35 here. I'm back inside too. My lawns are mowed but my blades really need sharpening. Was going to wrangle them off and grind them, but it's too damn sticky out. Have a great rest of the day. 5 1

Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted August 13, 2020 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted August 13, 2020 Well everyone survived the Battle of the Vet. Getting Joker into the carrier was surprisingly easy. Well, for the vet anyway. She had a nice, large carrier and was able to get him in it with minimal fuss. Knight, on the other hand... he managed to escape the first attempt, then ran and hid on the upstairs landing. The vet and vet tech managed to get him in by grabbing him and wearing large, very thick gloves. He was not nice about being stuffed into the carrier. Thankfully the exams themselves went well. Both cats are in good health. Joker has lost some more weight. They both had bloodwork and stool/urine samples taken. I'll get those results on Sat. Now we're all relaxing and recuperating from the ordeal. 7
