Popular Post Marty Posted August 17, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 17, 2020 (edited) Today has been cloudy, with rain since late morning, and it's still raining with less than an hour and half to go before midnight. The rain has't been too heavy - I suppose it was what could be termed a soft day. I had a hospital appointment this afternoon. What's known as a diabetic retina scan. They've done one every year since I was diagnosed, as Type 2 diabetes, if untreated, can lead to eye damage. They've not turned up any damage so far in previous tests, but I won't get the results from this one until about two weeks time. One good thing about the dull day was that I didn't have to wait the usual three hours before I could drive home. They put drops in my eyes to make the pupils really wide, and that can make it difficult to see for a while, even with sunglasses on. The dull day meant that my eyes were able to function properly after about an hour. Edited August 17, 2020 by Marty Tidying up 5 1

Page Scrawler Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I'm reading a book called "The Extraordinaries", by TJ Klune. A nerdy, very un-extraordinary guy named Nick writes fan fiction stories about superheroes. Until he meets Shadow Star, his town's most famous superhuman (and Nick's secret crush). Suddenly, Nick doesn't want to just write about superheroes; he wants to LIVE as one of them. I'm also writing a short story about a young man who meets a boy with autism/Asperger's Syndrome. The "special" boy believes that he's actually The Little Prince, from Asteroid B-612. 4 1
