I know the French can be a bit volatile at times. At the risk of straying into politics, is the government worried about street demonstrations if they bring in too many restrictions. Like what's happened in parts of The Netherlands? Edited January 29, 2021 by Marty Correcting another of my inevitable typos. 6

Like what's happened in parts of The Netherlands? Yes, of course. In a couple of towns there have been street demonstrations of people opposed to lockdown, "restrictions on rights"... but mostly people seem defeated and ready for a new lockdown seeing the numbers. The "good" thing making people accepting it is, apparently, it won't be as strict as the first one in spring when everyone was totally locked home. I bet you can't wait! ❤️ I'm a little nervous that despite doing all I can (and I did a lot), it's impossible to keep all air(droplets) from coming upstairs because of the forced air furnace, but I know they will be as careful as they can be. I sealed up the heating vents in my bedroom, as an added precaution (I'll use an electric heater). My son is not going to the gym until I get the vaccine, and that's a huge sacrifice for a bodybuilder. But yes, I am looking forward to him having his home back. It looks really good down there. The new floor is awesome... there are two good-sized bedrooms, a large sitting room, and a family room, as well as a full bath, and the kitchen turned out better than I hoped. It's small, but the sink is big with good counterspace on both sides, and cupboards underneath, and there is a pantry next to it and a new fridge a few feet from the sink in what used to be large closet. He has a convection oven, new microwave, a coffee maker and a toaster--I put in four new outlets--and new lighting. I also installed a new entry door that was once the outside door to the walkout. It has a window in it, and looks good now that's it's been repainted. I did a ton more, but that's the gist of it. All I have left to do( other than the tent) is to seal up the door to the downstairs with tape. 1 6

But I think there's a common view abroad of the Irish that we do very little else than get totally drunk on Guinness just about every day. And the English just like to portray us as stupid. Apparently there's a new storm heading from the Atlantic towards Western Europe - Storm Justine... In addition to rain and snow, Storm Justine is forecast to bring gusty winds to western Europe as it sinks into France. "Wind gusts of 50-60 mph (80-97 km/h) will occur across southwestern France, northeastern Spain and the northern coast of Spain," Richards stated. "Along the eastern half of the northern coast of Spain into far southwestern France wind gusts of 60-70 mph (97-113 km/h) will be possible." And I think both myself and someone else (@clochette?) said the first time that all you need to do is to copy the YouTube link, and paste it directly into your reply. If that's what you are doing, and it isn't working, I'm not sure what can be wrong... I have read that some YouTube links may be (designed to be?) non-embeddable, but if you were trying to embed the same video link I successfully shared, I fail to understand why it wouldn't embed for you. Just a thought... you are simply pasting the link directly into the text editor, I assume. What I mean is you are not clicking on the "Link" button at the top of the editor to add the link? If you use the Link button, the YouTube link will simply appear as a clickable link, rather than rendering into displaying the actual video in your reply. So just paste the link directly into the text area of your reply, and it should display correctly... ************* Hope this helps. If not, maybe pose a question in the Help Forum. Here's one about YouTube videos from a few years ago: Yep, second time I've tried without success. Thanks for your help. 5 1

Popular Post clochette Posted January 29, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 29, 2021 @Marty the verdict is out: no lockdown but more restrictions starting sunday: - big shopping malls over 20 000m² will be closed - no more going out of the UE and no coming in from outside the UE - tests are mandatory to go to UE and coming from the UE - more controls of curfew 6

Haven't really done for the past twenty years or more. When my GP advised me to cut down on my alcohol intake around 9 years ago, after my type 2 diabetes diagnosis, I just laughed and said something along the lines of "That means I'd finish up with a negative blood alcohol level." 1 6
