dughlas Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Had a lovely day in Charleston. We walked through a different part of the city by visiting the campus of the College of Charleston. They celebrated the 250 anniversary of the college's founding last year. There were scores of adorably young folk out and about. Though I wonder if some of the lads are even old enough to shave. The students seem soo young. One cute fellow was enamored of Thistle and chatted with about for about 5 minutes. 5

William Amos, an MP from Quebec, was caught by video changing his clothes after a run. It was a parliamentary feed only, but caused a lot of fuss. Rather disappointing that he was holding something in front of his business. 6

When I read the word naked I wondered whether some Canadian politician has been doing a Lady Godiva... Spoiler Legend has it that Lady Godiva took pity on the people of Coventry, who were suffering grievously under the oppressive taxation of her husband, Leofric, Earl of Mercia. Lady Godiva appealed again and again to her husband, who obstinately refused to lower the taxes. At last, weary of her entreaties, he said he would grant her request if she would strip naked and ride on a horse through the streets of the town. Lady Godiva took him at his word, and after issuing a proclamation that all persons should stay indoors and shut their windows, she rode through the town, clothed only in her long hair. Just one person in the town, a tailor ever afterwards known as Peeping Tom, disobeyed her proclamation in what is the most famous instance of voyeurism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Godiva Spoiler 4

Popular Post Headstall Posted April 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 15, 2021 Life can be so discouraging. Our vaccine rollout is not going well... supply promises are not being met, there are issues with Astrazeneca and J And J. Appointments are being cancelled in great numbers in Ontario, and I'm beginning to worry that mine will be too. I am counting on the Pfizer and Moderna, as promised, but it would seem only the Astrazeneca might be available. The other vaccines' arrival has been pushed back. I might be wallowing in self pity, but it feels like the world is against me lately... it seems everywhere I turn there is disappointment.... I feel angry and sad, and incredibly discouraged in so many things. I need to rally today, and let stuff go. My son got me another horse wormer paste yesterday... I'm clutching at straws... but it is so hard to watch something so beautiful, an animal I have loved from the day she was born, waste away in front of my eyes. Sorry for whining, but thanks for listening. I am thankful for the brief joy of finding three healthy new kittens in the box on my veranda, but it was sad to find a fourth one dead. I don't like burying animals, especially ones that had no chance to live. 6 1
