Apart from the fact that I love gardening, and it was the huge garden that persuaded me to buy this house, the garden has been my only real way of staying sane during this lockdown.

I know and I used to find joy in it. I would lose myself for hour out there digging and playing with dirt, taking care and baby plants... but now I just feel nothing. Or kinda like a burden, like I have this gorgeous raised bed and a green house and I feel obligated to do something but truth is my heart isn't in it. 

I hope it'll come back with the warmth and nice weather in the coming days/weeks

Anecdote in New Age Journal, Vol. 7 (1990), p. 176:

When Yuri Gagarin, the first man who went into space, returned to Earth, there was a huge reception in his honor. As his close friend and cosmonaut colleague Alexei Leonov tells it, then premier Nikita Khrushchev cornered Gagarin. "So tell me, Yuri," he asked, "did you see God up there?" After a moment's pause, Gagarin answered "Yes sir, I did." Khrushchev frowned. "Don't tell any one," he said. 

A few minutes later the head of the Russian Orthodox Church took Gagarin aside. "So tell me, my child," he asked Gagarin, "did you see God up there?'" Gagarin hesitated and replied "No sir, I did not." "Don't tell anyone."

Of course, if he'd really expected to see the Almighty Cod, perhaps he should have been in a submarine instead of a spaceship...

Cooler day here. Rain and high of 11C. Rain expected over the next three days. Cookie used to hate the rain when she came here... now she never hesitates, and this morning she was staring up at it, trying to figure out where it comes from I think.
