Plus you are soon to be fully protected Is it a case of no pain no gain? It will be awesome to see the grandkids 6

I'm not sure whether my raspberry canes are just a later variety, or if the fact that they are only just starting to form fruits is due to the fact that they were bought with bare roots back around February, and just need to build up their reserves during this first year... 1 6

Mine were here when I bought the farm in 1988. They were spread everywhere. My kids used to spend hours picking berries, like, daily. 6

Also got blackcurrants almost ripe, raspberries in full flower, and already picking strawberries. Flower garden progressing. Four clumps of (pre-existing) hollyhocks in flower, but they are all the same colour (pink). Have seedlings in pots of a multi-coloured variety that I intend planting out next spring, and should give a lot more colour. Also have aquilegia seedlings potted on for next year, and some lavender seedlings ready to pot on. Roses are in bloom, along with calendula, lupins, and climbing nasturtiums starting to cover parts of the garden walls. I've some lupin seedlings coming along to replace ones that are several years old and starting to lose some of their vigour. Various other flowers, some of which I admit not being sure what they are, as they were in the garden when I bought this place. Those ones you don't know what they are ... they're simply known as "pretty". They're rather common. I'm sure you've encountered them before. Just think back ever hear someone say those are pretty flowers? Edited July 11, 2021 by dughlas 6

A total loss. That crop accounts for 80% of the total US supply. Blueberries could become more scarce and expensive. 4 1
