It's why The Beatles wrote about one. I'm a bird nerd, lol! (PS: The common European black bird is a completely different species from the American one and is, in fact, a type of thrush.) Hi, Caz! I'm not an expert, but I looooove birds... I used to breed budgies for the fun of it... 2 4

I used to breed budgies for the fun of it... I had a budgie when I was a kid. He was called Pippin. After Pippin the Short (who is, in Norwegian, called Pippin the Little; my dad named him, ultimate dad joke). He lived for a fairly long time. He was already pretty old when we got him, around 1991 or so, estimated over 10 years old, and he didn't die until 1999. He was so beautiful. Yellow head, wonderfully shiny turquoise chest. My granddad taught me the songs of all the birds of the forest. He knew everything. 2 5

Just another Thursday for me, never really cared for this particular holiday, but to those who do, Happy Valentine's Day! Hug your loved ones, and practice some self-love while you're at it. Lemon-butter chicken with risotto, watercress salad, and molten chocolate cake for tonight's menu. 5 hours ago, dughlas said: G'day y'all. It's a bright frosty morning here. Getting milder - and I heard the blackbird singing in the dusk on my way home. Melodious and characteristic, as @Thorn Wilde says. But I guess it can be annoying at 5 am and right outside your window. 4 2 1
