Had to make phone calls letting our friends and neighbors know we must cancel Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I've been fighting what mostly seems a nasty head cold since last Friday. I thought I was improving then suffered a setback today. This afternoon Mum started exhibiting symptoms. We do not want to share this with anyone. Nor do we have the energy necessary to host. I still have to roast a 12lb turkey tomorrow. It's thawed and must be cooked. I foresee an abundance of leftovers.

The saddest part is that while prepping sides this afternoon we came to the conclusion that this year would be our last year to host a dinner. Mum just doesn't have it anymore and another year isn't going to fix that.

Uncle Mickey and Uncle Remy are still in Hawai'i, so they won't be here. Aunt Deirdre and her kids will be with her husband's family this year. Unfortunately, my father-in-law tested positive for COVID, though his symptoms are very mild. My mother-in-law tested negative, but she obviously won't be joining us, for fear of carrying the virus into our house. She'll be making turkey and wild rice soup for their dinner. We might do a Zoom session with them later. So, it's just Max, Morgan and I, plus a few of our friends.

Thank you Albert. I've already got plans for a hearty turkey noodle soup. The forecast is for it to turn cold. Winter time temps with potential subfreezing lows beginning this weekend into early next week.
