Wish we had a button for GROAN because Marc you're straining the limits of incredulity...if I am being nice... I can remember a Far Side cartoon called The Bozone Layer and if Marc can't/won't pull his head out of his nether regions, I could see him taking up residence there...Don't mind me folks...just a tad cranky today as my taxes are being done...grrrrrr

Well as we all know Bouncer is more than the sum of his parts, Essell as we know, can be a tad slow on the uptake!!! Great comment!!!!

That's one way to start a conversation...

I have to agree with the above comment and the chapter gives much food for thought...I've often thought that as a society, we've treated sex as something dirty and shameful, (Thank you Puritans) when we should be treating it openly with honest, thoughtful discussions...considering all the ramifications physical, emotional, and spiritual. But then at the same time we treat dealing/educating about sex like the evil that it is, I came across the following headline. Mind you I am only using the headline/article to illustrate the point I am trying to make, not change the direction of the conversation...We can't discuss sex education in schools, but some would allow 14 year old children openly carry firearms... The Republican-led legislature in Missouri voted down a provision that would ban minors from carrying guns in public without adult supervision earlier this week in a state that already has some of the weakest gun laws in the US. The amendment was initially part of a bipartisan effort to pass legislation to increase public safety in Missouri. The legislative body rejected the proposal by 104 to 39 votes. Democratic Rep. Donna Baringer for the city of St. Louis was disappointed by the outcome and said law enforcement in her district supported the ban of children openly carrying firearms so that "14-year-olds walking down the middle of the street in the city of St. Louis carrying AR-15s."

While its a bit different situation, I could not help but remember this...BTW...good on dan remembering his lifesaving class!!

We may have to change the words to the children's song, Old MacDonald bought a farm at the rate Ivan is going... Vacation is pretty much planned, the older boys are doing well and GG, while not excluding anyone, is helping the families next artist in young Carl!!

What more needs to be said at this time... “Bouncer killed the Kardoval,” he said bluntly. “Every last one of them is either dead from having their throats bit out or are dying from the poison of his claws.”

Well, that's one way to make an exit...fear and ignorance seems to be a universal trait...
-
Well...that certainly sets the stage...

A whole lotta angst in this chapter...how will it play out...Sawyer is moving very fast and Marc is running from himself just as quickly...

My...my...my...will we ever find out why the glass shattered...As I drive along on weekend days doing my chores, and some weekdays as well, in the spring, summer, and fall...our narrow New England roads can be jam packed with lollygaggers and estate sales addicts... And then for those who antique junkies, beware the flea markets...especially the one linked below, and it is just one of many throughout the region... https://thebrimfieldshow.com/

I wish there was a slapping your forehead button, cause Gianni has got me doing so...He's so frigging impatient it's driving me crazy!!!! He's making the connection, it is taking time but Sami isn't shying away from him and is finding comfort in his arms... Sami is seven or eight years old, living in a whole new environment...Of course he is going to gravitate towards kids closer to his age, especially Marco and Dani...for all intents and purposes, they saved him... I understand very clearly that the whole series of events leading up to taking Sami in and the holiday season, is dredging up difficult emotions that Gianni has kept buried, and I think he needs someone who can listen impartially. Letting/convincing/understanding that this is a situation that will grow and thrive over time...patience Gianni...patience!!!!

So glad to see they've survived the storms and have come out stronger...

Chapter 1.2 - The Fog over Lake Marron
drsawzall commented on Simon Iskander's story chapter in Chapter 1.2 - The Fog over Lake Marron
I think, and while I am no expert, Rich may be suffering from low self-esteem or depression. And as noted above in the previous comment, the fog is certainly apt for the overall setting and mood. There's much going on here behind the curtain... -
Chapter 1 - The Fog over Lake Marron
drsawzall commented on Simon Iskander's story chapter in Chapter 1 - The Fog over Lake Marron
Looks like an interesting start, lets see where this goes... -
Hell hath no fury like a bully scorned...have we seen the last of Raymond Saunders??? Out here in the not so frozen tundra of New England, we know when a spring thaw is coming by what is called "Ice Out" on the local rivers...I suspect we'll be seeing more of James and Dion...

Including @gdaniel, Unfortunately today, so many who espouse and preach their distorted versions of their faiths forget that Jesus put paid to the old testament. They practice what I would call "Pick And Choose" christianity to suit their own, warped and twisted versions in order to fleece their adherents. Then there are those who would impose their view/versions on us based on historical untruths... https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2023/02/09/prri-poll-christian-nationalism/ I think the best one could hope for would be to follow the golden rule...Do on to others as you would have others do on to you...

What Was, Is, and Will Be
drsawzall commented on R. Eric's story chapter in What Was, Is, and Will Be
Another great chapter, whatever you are feeding your muse...keep doing so!! I know I am harping on this but the following still has me worried... He knew there were problems with Ark III. There was a problem with leadership, Ark IV had equipment failure and deaths. They had been launched too quickly. That caused the problems. If the other Arks were in trouble such as Ark lll, would they interfere? -
So many great things and tender moments in this chapter, including a touch of angst...just a masterclass in wordsmithing. I can really sense Sami settling in and becoming comfortable with his situation,,,just as Marco's seems to be deteriorating...So glad we got to see Toto, Michele and Claudia!! Is it just me or is Reza seeming to be a tad uncomfortable in mentoring Sami?? And as noted above, ya gotta love the wandering cat...

Just loved this chapter, and would like to see how the other college students are fairing and their successes!! I sense that there may be some who still have designs on Carl...I certainly hope not...
-
Well...this was a chapter with plenty of food for thought...keep 'em coming and glad to see you can look at some things you need to let go of in the rear view mirror...Do what it takes to stay healthy!!!

The voyage of discovery is well on its way...

I missed this comment earlier and I'm feeling cranky today @Carlos Hazday... It isn't that I have an issue with cliffhangers, I have an issue when the author overdoses on them, to me...it detracts from the thrust of a story and changes into something completely different. I don't need a cliffhanger (oh..look at me...aren't I so clever) with every chapter. At some point it becomes pedantic, need I say repetitious, and why does the fable Killing The Golden Goose come to mind...As for leaving a cliffhanger out there for a couple years...bye...bye...

Nothing dispels ignorance like a good, meaningful, honest conversation(s) based on reality and facts....
