  1. It's your choice, but since everyone knows you as "Eminent" or "Emi", maybe just stick with "The Eminent GS".
  2. I wrote this haiku for the Love is Love anthology, but unfortunately I read the time for the submission deadline wrong and missed it. I'd still like to share it here, though. Pulse Red wails and flashes Blue hastens to the fallen A rainbow appears The area I live in is currently suffering a severe drought, which inspired this piece. Drought Wizened stalks fold, defeated, finding fractured fissures burning for nature's quenching embrace.
  3. oooo a zombie one! Must tackle that prompt LOL
  4. Did you write this? If so, I would encourage you to get author status and post it in a collection of your poetry. It's amazing and brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me of a meditation exercise that I did when I took yoga classes. It was a very powerful and moving experience for me.
  5. I'm glad you were able to chalk it up to 'assholes being assholes'. Unfortunately, there will always be bigots in the world. I feel bad for your friend. Words can hurt so deeply no matter how much we don't want them to.
  6. Happy Birthday, Mann! I hope you have an awesome day Here's a steampunk dragon cake for you
  7. Great story
  8. Thanks so much, everyone. I'm out of likes, but will like your posts as I get more This site has such great people here. I feel better already.
  9. I've been having 'female issues' since the beginning of the year and recently underwent some updated testing. About three months ago, I had an ultrasound that showed a small, septated cyst on my left ovary. I also had a cervical polyp that was removed during the examination. Septated means segmented, and as far as cysts go, that is generally not good. The plan of action was to wait 2-3 months and have a repeat ultrasound. Well, the repeat ultrasound showed that it had doubled in size, so I was told that the ovary will need to be removed. The good news is that my bloodwork came back normal, so it may not be cancerous. I have another appointment tomorrow with the doctor, since they screwed up this appointment and made it with the nurse practitioner. I will have more information then as to how I need to proceed. Needless to say, this is very upsetting to me, but now that the initial shock has worn off I am feeling more optimistic. I've talked to a couple of friends who have had the surgery and they both made it through with no complications. Fingers crossed I will do the same. Edited for update: I'm feeling a lot better after my appointment this afternoon. The doctor isn't overly concerned with the cyst. Even though it's septated, all my other tests came back normal so there's a very high likelihood it's benign. I will undergo further testing in a couple of weeks, then we will schedule the surgery. I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and well wishes. GA is such an amazing place and it's all because of you all.
  10. Have fun and safe travels!
  11. I have an idea for the first line prompt. Hopefully I can get it written this weekend.

    The Jar

Great story, Tim! I could see this as a longer work, with the rise of Thomas' career, finding a boyfriend, and the subsequent takeover of Thomas II more fleshed out. It would make a fascinating book. I loved it.
  13. Happy Birthday, Renee! I hope you're having a great time camping! Here's a camping cake for you
  14. I thought the cookies you made sounded familiar. lol They were quite good I think you used craisins instead of raisins, and those gave them a nice tang
  15. Happy Birthday, Dabeagle!! I hope hubby and the kids spoil you today Here's a beagle cake I thought you'd appreciate Have an awesome day!! :D
  16. I get CTV and CBC so I'll be watching the coverage when I get home from vacation. One of the main reasons I keep cable is to watch Spruce Meadows show jumping and the Calgary Stampede on CTV every summer

    Prompt 476

Thanks I'm glad you liked it
  19. I had a Maine Coon cat for about 15 years. He was such a sweetheart. I still miss him. They are great cats.
  20. They're all beautiful cats. I like the markings on the last one, but I think any one of them would produce lovely kittens.
  21. This is one of my favorite features, too. Thanks for adding a fourth feature. It increases the number of authors we get to hear from, and that's great!

    Chapter 9

Damn...what the hell is Jerry's problem? He's got some serious issues. I wonder if it has to do with Dorian being Senator Gale's son? Wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to blackmail him or something. Good for Dorian for standing up for himself. Even though he doesn't want anything to do with Dr. Avery, in this case I'd like nothing more than for Dorian to sic him on that bitch in the housing dept. She reminds me of someone I talked to in the financial department when I was in college. She was being so rude and condescending towards me I finally told her off. Then she was all nice and accommodating. Some people...sheesh. I'm really enjoying this story, BTW.
  23. Sounds like a good question for his doctor. Couldn't hurt to make sure everything's ok.
  24. Great pics, Addy. Thanks for sharing!
  25. I know! My week is all thrown off now...
