Thank you for reminding me I could "google" the answer - I just thought I might ask a human person.

Just for my understanding: what's the difference between a solicitor and a barrister?

Great chapter! Those texts had to be something else to make the lawyers cave! With their reputation, one would have thought they would have defended the texts. Glad that part seems to be over now.
  4. Ah...the intrigue! Leaving us with another "crisis"...but I believe it will all work out - maybe not as we think at the moment. That's what makes this a great story...now we have to wait another week in suspense, boo, hiss!
  5. Couldn't have said it better myself. This story has been moving forward very well and this chapter is simply over drawn out and misplaced.
  6. As a retired educator, it's both a blessing and a curse as I catch myself reading and viewing a manuscript as I would an essay or paper turned in from my students. Did it for many years and actually do proofread for other authors.
  7. I like the pacing of the action in the story. Would like to correct one word, however: Mike who normally was obviously to home domestic decorations. I believe you meant to type "oblivious" and spellcheck changed it.

I have a feeling Mr. Llarosa will be sweeping floors if he is so lucky. Great chapter! Can next Friday come sooner?
  9. Now on to some hard decisions: will they stay in Lincoln? How will the divorce be settled? Thanks for this chapter - it has brought together a lot of loose ends, but there's so much more to complete the story. Keep posting quickly, please!
  10. Well, there you go again: creating intrigue that makes us so eager for the next chapter! Great job! Please post sooner and more often!
  11. And such a rabbit! Interesting, however.
  12. I have waited until this chapter to comment as I wanted to see where the chinks in the armor were. Nash and Lee were too "perfect", but I never suspected Lee and Paul. Great job, Mrsgnomie, of creating that situation! I, too, agree that others, especially the Knotts, knew of the "complication". They didn't want to hurt Nash. The relationship with Penn is interesting - let's see where friendship leads.

Those glossies would surely cause me to lose the job, lol! I prefer my fantasy vision of myself!

So, they need a live-in housekeeper? They have someone in mind but haven't asked yet----I know it must be me! I'm ready to move, lol! I love how these men have such strong and humble values despite their wealth. The humor, values, and plot are truly remarkable. Thanks Carlos!! Tony F
  15. Having been raise in a strict Catholic family, I know the guilt that is felt here. It took me until my 40's to be able to be comfortable with myself and realize I didn't have to be "out" to all, but to myself. I no longer attend the Catholic Church though the core teachings of Christianity as taught by Jesus still are the bedrock of my own faith. They don't jive with the institutional church in all things, but I am very comfortable with my faith.
  16. Simon is gaining confidence slowly, but strongly. That he used his anger to confront Nadine was a positive step forward for him. I think we all see what's happening with him and Jeff and I hope the hour before the other arrive prove fruitful! Don't keep us waiting too long, please Drew! Tony

It's not that Rosie doesn't support Simon, I believe. She has been brow beaten by Matthew as much as Simon has. It took a long time for her to stand up to him. With Niki, I believe she can learn how to be more supportive. After all, she is quick to reconsider when Niki explains things rationally. Great story!

I'm surprised that Simon's dad is still paying for his phone though it is his only means of contacting him. He needs to talk to his mum and Niki about the phone situation!
  19. I certainly agree: Don's motivation is to protect his family. He has just allowed ignorance and prejudice overtake his reasoning. It would be nice to see if he has a change of heart if he realizes he's losing the family he thought he was protecting.
  20. Oh the intrigue you've created! Love it!

This was a wonderful chapter. You've created wonderful characters - even those we dislike! They serve to bring into focus the issues that underlie the story and you have done it brilliantly. I am totally enjoying this story and your writing immensely.
  22. I really intrigued now about what might be happening between Don and Sue. Sue seems to becoming a bit more assertive. And Nicola and Daniel are aligning with her. Robbie is slowly maturing emotionally, though I do believe he will always have that streak of defiance as part of his personality. Nathan's honesty was admirable. Now to see how this proceeds! Thanks for posting, Dodger!
  23. Wonderful job of showing how a late bloomer goes through the stages of questioning and discovery and acceptance. It might seem a little to easily done by Mike, but I'm sure it wasn't.
  24. Very informative chapter in giving Simon's background. The bus ride was the perfect setting for the narrative. Just wondering if the schools in Great Britain are still like those portrayed?

Wonderful job of describing and exploring gay teen angst - especially of one as introverted as Simon. I'm sure you will delve more into his layers as the story develops.
