I predict that something horrid will eventually happen to Mr. Morrison, now he has made enemies of members of two Mafia groups, and a member of the Yakuza, as well as the family of the chief of police.

There's a collection of interesting characters here. Their interaction should provide plenty of excitement. The mention of Baba Yaga takes me back to my childhood when my father used to read me folk stories from various traditions. He was interested in folk lore and mythology and I still have the copy of 'Siberian And Other Folk Tales' from which he got the story of Baba Yaga. I found the story quite terrifying, not because of Yaga herself, but because her hut walked on chickens' feet.There was something terribly sinister about something as mundane as chickens feet being enlisted in the service of evil. I had several nightmares about that hut! Whenever Viktor has a chemistry lesson, I shall visualise the chemistry lab walking round on chickens' feet !! I always enjoy your stories; this one will be no exception.

Plans for the story sound very promising; I look forward to reading it. Weather has been strange in England too. A very mild Winter was followed by a chilly April that reminded us why T. S. Eliot said 'April is the cruellest month' This month warm days have alternated with chilly. Perhaps it's the work of monsters!

You did very well to remember so much of your dream, which would be the basis for a wonderful story' I especially like the idea of metaphysical evidence :-)

I've reached an age when I look my best fully clothed, so I'm not tempted to offend. It does seem rather hypocritical of Google though. If a story mentions some scanty garment or state of undress, a Google search will quickly reveal lots of illustrations ! However I do agree we have to keep this site running so we can enjoy the splendid collection of stories. Our administrators have a tough job, so you all win a big hug from me :-)

That's a sweet story. I've actually seen the original Cheshire Cat. It's carved into the stonework on the tower of Grappenhall Church, near Warrington in North Cheshire. Lewis Carroll knew of it because he was brought up in a nearby village where his father was vicar.

I'm glad someone who'll be noticed has made a stand against the nonsense in North Carolina.

Long long ago I used to be a teacher, mainly of Maths, though I originally graduated in a mixture of Science and Philosophy. I taught some Physics for a while, but managed to drop it after a few years. Once someone gets a teaching job there are often opportunities to change from one subject to another. Just wait until someone leaves or retires and there's no-one available to take on their work, and then volunteer. I taught Communications to Business Studies students one year and it made an interesting change. You have my best wishes. I hope you have a very successful teaching career, stimulating young minds to think.

I've enjoyed all your stories very much. In every story you surprise us with a different collection of people in different situations. Those doubts you describe are really a strength, not a weakness. It is because you are so critical of your writing that you write so well, so please don't be discouraged, and certainly don't stop writing; you are one of our stars !!

I'm looking forward to reading this story. It promises to be just as exciting as all your stories, and yet different. I very much admire your versatility. Every story you write is set in a different world from all the others. I don't post many reviews because I usually wait till stories are complete before reading more than the first chapter, so when I do read them I'm in too much of a hurry to get to the next chapter to stop to do more than post a 'like', but I do very much appreciate your contributions and my 'likes' are all mean 'like very much indeed' .

I'm fidi I can hardly wait to find out what happens next, but thought I ought to pause long enough to say thank you for writing it. I do hope those unpleasant government people are about to suffer a spectacular catastrophe. This is very much the sort of story I like.
