Wonderful chapter. Oli is getting more confident with himself, and that result in being more open with his family. I just hope that he, and specially Ryder since he is the adult, realise that the mother concerns are right this time. There is a huge difference between Oli and Ryder when he started. Ryder was 18, Oli at 13/4 is much younger, he cannot just drop everything, if he was my child, even if he was a genius, he would need to go to school as a normal boy. So they have to understand that their pace will be different than Messiah, probably concerts only in vacation time like summer (anyway it is festival time so plenty of opportunities), and working cannot hurt the school and homework. But they will still be great. I said that about other stuff as well (the TMZ gossip), but maybe because Ryder had people doing it for him, I think he is ignoring the power of social media. He probably still command a legion of followers, even after his fall out. Aampler with 30 seconds of the song on Instagram, followed by one of those "What's been happening in my life" kind of videos on YouTube would do the trick. First explain the personal stuff (like "I am doing great, have a great boyfriend and a younger brother-in-law" kind of gossip for fans), give the news of a new and last Messiah album (keep fans interested), then introduce new project and Oli, joke about the new type of songs, bitch about the record companies tell him what to do (loyal fans would have their blood boiling, they will remember the previous talks about metal being dead), and assure everyone that you are still doing the project. Never ignore the common folk love forever shaming big corporations So... Am I hired as agent?

This chapter was great, full of information and even more speculation. So Max and Styx are probably not brothers... Not from the mother side as Grim and Veil would have sensed Fedain in Styx, and although we don't know for sure, the using Max observation I believe Dogo is Styx's father. We already knew they were linked, but the nature of Fasha becomes more mysterious every time we learn something about him. But the more interesting facts came from Grim. What was the nature of that old God, with humanoid form? A type of "demon" that fought the others? Some old race? Someone, not unlike Neredos, that became a God after killing the demons? And we learned that contrary to normal stamina, Fedain healing uses more energy that it can be replaced by food or rest, and they die yuung... However they existence of Grim and Veil use a paradox. Did the siblings learned how to use their powers to reach immortality, or were they part of the magic/ritual that keeps Neredos alive? Finally Maxthane heritage... Fedain blood is rare... I wonder how powerful can he get being a mage and Fedain. It is true that might be a quarter Fedain, or less, from a half-blood mother. If not, it is interesting that the only Fedain female known in several miles is... Veil... I wonder, is she involved? If yes, what's the dangerous game she is playing? PS: it is still unclear to me if normal humans, Gor, and Fedain are just ethnic/racial groups with slightly different skills, or if they are different species, like the elves/ dwarves of old mythology.

I get it, but I would still not call. If they want a party they can organize it themselves. Everyone has to live with the choices they made, including their parents (The only 50 year anniversary I attended was my grandparents, and they organized and paid everything). Yeah I understand Jason point in never have confronted his parents, what I meant was that I would probably drift apart, with resent. Specially because it seems that the parent just accepted it, no compromise, like alternating years for holidays and visiting the kids in other weekends (I mean, that happens in big families or when they live far, one year you spend Christmas with one side, other year with the other side). Jason might feel that if they had to chose, they don't care much for their own son, didn't even said anything to his sister-in-law that day.

Forgot to add that while Jason momentarily jealousy reaction was not nice it was completely understandable, not so much because of the material part, although it doesn't seem that he had much help from his parents in his life; but because of the way he was always treated as second class, not really appropriate, not part of a family. Although they are not the major cause, I am not sure I would have been able to keep a relationship with the parents for 20 year, would probably resent them too much.

They did had a lot of sex. You guys are very nice, maybe I am not great in this "forgiving the assholes" thing. I don't see why Jason should call his brother, nothing changed. Jason should confront his parents, the grandkids are not babies anymore, they are adults so their mother can't take them away. So they for a change should take Jason side and don't invite her specific. Jason can go to the anniversary and ignore his brother, but shouldn't have to endure the sister-in-law. It's the least their parents owe him. On the other hand, they could just say to the family that they are dating someone much younger/older, and just go together to the party. That would be a nice "Surprise!"

This was great, you do have a way for strange families. Now the question is, do the parents know JD is gay? If they do they are even worse idiot hypocrites.

Hey, don't jinx it! They had too many obstacles already Ryder is truly happy, getting a grip on his life. And Yay, proposal! It is only 13 years late, but it will be awesome. And Oli was great, he reacted as I expected, he is a good kid behind the craziness. But yeah, they still have to bury Nate in lawsuits.

That was an interesting chapter. The Inquisitor ranging from the fanatic zealot (Tibrae) to a greasy manipulator (Grembal). Hope Kiera tell use more about him. Neredos is a complicated man, happy to saw his friend, but dismissive of the danger, kind of drunk in his own power. Veil is the great unknown here. Prism would be a good mentor for Styx; but a mentor for what? And her opinion on attacking Salidar, is a true concern about the people in Pentalus, or does she have a agenda behind it? Is she caring, or manipulative?

I thought the same as Tim. It is interesting that Richard was looking their way an looked uncomfortable as well, but in the end, it doesn't matter that much if he just didn't "want" to be gay, if he was playing Drake all along, or if he trully fell in love with Bernadette (although I think that to fall in love you have to open the door, to give it a change, maybe flirt and learn about the other person; so it is still dishonest while you are dating someone else). The damage was done, and Drake for sure doesn't have to stay friends with his ex. But it does need the closure. Jimmy is a manipulator, but in a good sense. Supportive of Drake, but showing him at the same time what he wants, that it is Drake choice. They are good together.

Oh no! Kohen misunderstood what he heard, the Captain was worried about him, not rejecting him. Hope he goes looking for Kohen and sees him sad and wrapped in his blanket. Even invthe galactic future, talking with each other is key.

Love this chapter... Not a very bright comment, or original, but love pretty much everything in it. Ryder growth and realisation that he is responsible for himself and to deal with it (don't want to sound unsympathetic, for from it, but unfortunately with depression no matter how much psychiatrist, medicine or supportive friends, there is always a part of it that's "suck it up and deal with it", that one has to manage for himself). Love Olive speech to Ryder and the start of a new attitude, sure still crazy, but more open (a good family my teach him to open to "good emotional" too, not only anger). Love the new approach to music that Oliver is forcing Ryder. I might be biased as I don't like hard Rock and metal, but I respected and admired Ryder's commitment to it. However that's was not only the music that he liked, was the music of his dead parents, his pains, his bullying, and his despair. I always thought that in the path to happiness, he would have to leave that behind. Now I can almost imagine them doing strange things, they will sing and mix rock, punk, indie, pop, and probably even some "world music" sounds like caribbean or African beats. And they will have happy songs, sad songs, maybe dance songs, but above all "real" songs, no pretence. And they will still be the best, as they will not receive a "dead" genre, but create a new one. I even love that Teddy is happier and learning how to relax, even without Ryder close to him. God I am rambling, sorry people

You do know how to keep us interested in a story you are not developing But yes, you do have interesting setting, and many avenues you can develop if you want not only their new relationship together, but even before adding the new family "small detail", they both had major changes, both lost relationships with boyfriends when moving, Rob lost all the family he knew.

Yeah, this is one of those short stories where we don't know everything, we don't know how Alex died, but that still makes wish the living ones have a better life. I wonder if with time Dan finds love again, and if little Mattie grows into an amazing kid.

Thanks @BHopper2! Since I am really curious about your Aeris story I should say stick to sci-fi... But I can't, because this was a great story! You gave insights on both characters, made their feelings believable, and their actions and interactions didn't sound forced (even if being a rich Dad was easier than if if was working middle class). I actually think Adam's decision to deal with Rob was the best one, they are strangers to each other and Rob is 16, not 6, so treating him as almost an adult was in my view the correct choice, and avoided initial tensions or fight. With only a couple o major house rules, I feel that both will learn to interact with each other, while Adam retains the power to enforce them if they are broken. If you even feel open to write modern romance/drama I agree with someone who said before that this start could have more chapters, I'm curious about their new life.

*Mean gossip moment* that would probably be more to Jackson's liking Now seriously, since this story is supposed to be in the future, and I don't see the use of social media going back in 13 years, I really think that Ryder should be more active/responsive in it. And he could have so much fun making TMZ look like idiots. Imagine a tweet/Instagram response to the son story with a photo of Teddy and him saying "here is the other dad, don't they look the same?", Followed by " they are brothers, so I guess you took a pic of my brother-in-law, you morons". I am laughing just thinking about it... Probably he doesn't know how to do it, but Oliver would definitely help him

That's my feeling about him, I think that specially now that the home environment will became better, he might grow to be an awesome guy, but he is very immature now. If he can learn to control his wild streak, Marc is will probably be good for him. Thanks Ace, I liked The Tales, but I am loving The Hidden Ones.

I liked this chapter, cool, relaxed vacation time, even if they bicker. And I normally like Teddy, would totally date a handsome blonde doctor, but he would receive minus 100 points for not going to the sea! Much better than pools with their stale water. Oli, for all his craziness, is still a naive kid, with 13/14 I would imagine that he would start having some sexual curiosity.

Exactly how I feel. My opinion is not about D/s relationship or to be generalised, it's about Greg and Chris in this story. I didn't see a caring man that wants to take care of another, even if in a controlling way, and I didn't see Chris talking and deciding to to put in trust and control in Greg. Yes, Chris might not be aggressive dominant, might enjoy pleasing people, and admitted that he needed a rough partner in bed. But he was described as confident man in a terrible situation. Barely out of his teens he was living in the streets and selling himself, no hope or safety need. One might even imagine that he either doesn't have family or was abandoned by them. And what I saw was a spoiled powerful man, much older than him, that for six years humiliated him, and was not above using physical violence, threats and sexual assault to get what he wants. One that forces Chris hand and laughs at his discomfort. Forget about control, he didn't care about Chris' wants or needs, he looked to him and decided "you are mine". I don't think it is strange at all that Chris surrendered some control while they life together, one can go to extremes to mentally protect oneself and keep some sense of normality (that's what some cheated wives and violence victims do), since he doesn't have more options (it's kind of hard chosing other path, after the threats of never getting a job as butter again). However, I don't think Greg is beyond redemption, just found it hard that it would be with Chris. But hey, this is a story so that mind all end up happy

It is nice to see Jackson happy and confident with the play. And the last part, so cute. But will Jackson forgive Carter? Of course, we can't escape the attraction. But hope he makes him sweat first!

Hi Riley, welcome back! He sure have very deep problems still, but it's trying to face them upfront, wanting to get better. Nancy was great, she knows that keeping it hidden is worst for Riley, so she forced him to be open to Carter. And Carter is even more mature now, he behaved as the partner Riley needs.

I get what you are saying, I like when both guys in a story are versatile, or surprise you contradicting some stereotypes, like small/younger/artistic types can top bigger/older/athletic guys for God's sake.
