    My Champion

Interesting story. It creates a lot of questions in my mind. I want to read more!!!
  3. I've been listening to The Red Pony Suite for a few days now. Thanks for pointing it out.... My love/awe/admiration for Steinbeck dates back to, I think, the 6th grade when our reader contained a condensed version of The Red Pony. It stunned me by how it made me feel - both for the boy and the pony. It went up in my mind along side Charlotte's Web (by E.B. White) as about the best writing can get, and you know what? I'm still right in that opinion
  4. Good if you have a fairy in your life! Can I get one too, to take care of my laundry? I am curious, where this will go from here.

    Courting Ruin

LOL What an ending! I am still laughing, because of the surprise. Every baby-cat owner knows this. Great, really great work.

    False Flag

Here I am sitting in the living room, still traveling through the stars. Thanks for writing this!
  9. Hi Adi, a very sensitive piece, showing the difficult and different emotions of the two so well. Great! I look forward for a sequel. Lyssa
  10. Great beginning! I could feel the hangover. In the end the grief was palpable to me.
  11. LOL how great is this one! Magnificent. I really enjoyed it, even I was thinking about the next math lesson I have to give.

    Losing Royalty

Or run and hide when they heard what happened. Wrong tense: it should be hear. Maybe they can clear out Guantanamo at last and put the non-vampires there…

    Death

Dark...but very beautiful at the same time.
  18. Dear Parker, thanks for sharing this. I wish you and your family lots of strength! My thoughts are with you. Lyssa
  19. You might not like my personal version of them. I’m sure my therapists get frustrated (even if they don’t show it) when I talk about them. You see, I lose KarmaPoints™ for being rude or otherwise not nice. But I can never gain any since I’m only doing what I’m supposed to do according to the Social Contract that I learned growing up in the suburbs (say please and thank you, hold the door for people, be respectful, etc). Which means I’m only sinking… ;-) Of course, I now live in a more ‘urban’ area where the social contract is very different and people think I’m odd for doing the things I do all the time – and not just because I’m Gay!
  20. I am sorry for your loss. Your poem is s lovely way to say good by to a furry friend.
  21. As Google kindly informs me it's her birthday, here's some love from one Saint Louisian to another Joséphine Baker, Mon p'tit bonhomme et Chérie je t'aime, from a live TV appearance in 1964

    Light Lunch

In a couple weeks, when I go the my first program at Frameline41, I will be reminded that the LGBTQ community is filled with older people who enjoy movies as much or more than I do. Later that evening, I will be reminded that the LGBTQ community is filled with a wide range of younger people with a very different energy than filled the theater earlier that afternoon. For me, movies are a way for the various generations and sections of the LGBTQ community to learn about each other. And as usual, I will observe… ;-)
  23. Yaay! I'm just finishing that! I found audio-books of the series and I'm just listening through them all. I'm taking my time with the last one because I feel kinda sad that its over. Only 5 more hours! I'm also planing to read (listen to that is) The Hunchback of Notre-Dame by Victor Hugo since I never had the chance to read it. I already kinda started for a bit so I think that counts.

    Chapter 9

Well we know from the first chapter of the story that John and Wylie don’t end up together. And yet they remain (or returned to being) friends. Their current trajectory has to deviated at some point since this is all a very extended flashback. I’m surprised @Andrew_Q_Gordon didn't point the structural issue as giving away too much too. As it is, I’m still wondering how they got from here to there. Still confused. Still slowly muddling through a chapter or two every week or so… ;-)
