“Humans murdered my parents and your mom,” Chris said, not waiting for Rory to finish. “Left them for dead in the middle of a road like roadkill. Have you forgotten that?” The dialogue goes on to state that and worse had happened to others who took refuge in Portento from the humans. The bias against humans is rooted in fear and hate and that is a powerful combination. Accordingly, I can't hate Chris for feeling the way he does and I doubt Rory does either. If I was a betting person, I'd say it would take a miracle for the town to accept humans or for them to accept Rory mated to one.

Just getting caught up after a very busy week and had to stop by and add my: -
I find it hard to believe that events that I remember as a twenty-one year old, happened more than fifty years ago.... CJ's timeline has moved beyond real time and I suspect that there will be some momentous events that will be unanticipated and that CJ and Owen would find interesting. I thought the reveal on Fire Island was a nice touch...I could of done with a bit more description of the eye candy though. Owen and CJ are good people. Brad was doing well when CJ stopped by, but recovery from severe trauma has its good days and bad days both physically and psychologically. More please!

Rory has it bad. Really bad. And somehow I don't think anything dad says will change much, alpha dad or not.

I'm curious what Biosense is working on and why it's located next to a town with werewolves....and if the medicine for Milan is somehow part of the research?

I admit this genre is not my usual pick and I generally don't get beyond one or two chapters....however the writing and the characters have me intrigued and I'm going onward to see if it continues to catch my interest.

@Wayne GrayThe scene at the police station worked well and I think it added to the flow and logic of the story. I didn't really want to call too much attention to any changes as I was enjoying the story like it was completely new again.

Love the story and the tweaks you gave it before publishing it here on GA. It flowed better and was just so readable that we got so involved with the story that we didn't even really have a problem with the Italian dialogue as it was all just seamlessly done. Great job on a suspense filled story with several plot twists that worked out well. I look forward to what else you bring to GA...perhaps more about Harlan?

Zamba did good! Corbin survived as did Paul and only Harris bought the farm! Tim may get to stay...lucky Karen! Is Corbin going into the restaurant business?

Lola is hand gun if I remember right and I wonder if the murder of crows was intentionally vague? Lobster and wine including a new one for Ozzie's list. Still worried about Brad....

Harriss vs Luca? Throw Stefano into the mix and I wonder who prevails and if Corbin and Paul survive?

The bad guy is about to be in town and he has a plant who has wired both Paul and Corbin's homes for sound and video. I hope Harlan is a good bad guy and that Corbin and Paul keep a gun handy and maintain situational awareness. Lucca could be in on it all and also could play a deciding part in how it all plays out. I'm still hoping for a happy ending but it is certainly looking a bit bleak.

Zampa is a cat and certainly has her favorite. Paul is a good guy and Corbin is trying to be one too being worried about Karen and her new friend Timothy. There sure does seem to be a lot of interconnected stories going on for such a small town. And finally we are given a glimpse of Harlan. Is he a threat and a tool of Lucca or a guardian angel and a tool of Lucca? Perhaps we will find out in the next few chapters. I am certainly looking forward to reading them.

That was sweet and hot at the same time...and yes Heath is falling hard for the bunny and the bunny is not the scared rabbit when it comes to Heath. I suspect that they will end up owning each other's ass and probably sooner rather than later. -
Robin, where have I heard that name before? EDIT I couldn't let it go...Robin from Chapter 1...now that's a surprise! Paul's job is a dangerous one and he was lucky to survive. Corbin is in the cross hairs but so is Stefano and Hailey is a small town.

Matching Squad tatts seems like it will be a thing. Amazing what they find on road trips but somehow they always find wine. More please!
