Nessa is a fairy who lost all her powers when she killed another fairy. She can no longer be considered a fairy, and is thus expelled from her home and her family. "The child lay in his bed, curled up into a fetal position as he stared at the door across from him. It wasn't a door. It was a giant flab of flesh, glowing like when you put a flashlight under your hand, and breathing like a lung. It breathed slowly, filling with air and then flattening out. Then it breathed again. The boy was too scared to close his eyes, so he stared at the door that never left his room. It had been there for months. Haunting the child. Traumatizing him."

When a father's son goes missing, he has to venture into a world of nonsense and horror to bring him back.
