New bartender, Lane Hardy, has come to work at The Rainbow Beret, a gay bar outside of Denver. Regular customer Brendan McCoy is immediately attracted to his odd nature and appearance. But the more he gets to know Lane the more he senses the young man is on the run - from what he doesn't know, and what he doesn't know could kill him.

Exhausted and reeling from the nightmare events at the Rainbow Beret, Lane has finally reached Adermoor Cove. There he meets Vanessa Stanton, a woman who's dying from terminal cancer. Meanwhile, in flashbacks, the truth about Charlie's death is revealed.

For the past decade Nora has done her best to keep Lane safe by keeping her secrets. Now, she realizes, the time has come for Lane to know the truth. Feeling a desperate need to attone, she travels to Adermoor Cove to reconcile with her son.

The people of Adermoor Cove vibrate with excitement in preparation for Oktoberfest. Carlos is now the sheriff of the town. Moira has gone back to teaching, when she is attacked. Lane Hardy and his friends must decide Ramona's fate once and for all. Can they save her or must they destroy her?

Reeling from the events of Part 4, Lane and Carlos deal with the consequences in their own way. Having accepted Aunt Vanessa's legacy, Lane has officially settled into the lighthouse, Lane discovers his presence in the town is not welcomed.

Arad Ansari is a homeless street slug in the Grey District A-5 colony. Work is hard to come by and he has to compete with the animal/human hybrids called DemiShou, forcing him to make his way in less than savory methods.
