One of my favorite stories of my own - in the top three. Failure, redemption, loss, recovery and finally...the meaning of living.

The sexual molestation of a student by a teacher in an isolated tropical Australian town, triggers abductions and murder.

At a rainforest camp for adolescent youths Jarek introduces them to the joys of independence, freedom from irrational taboos, respect for nature and each other, and pride in their natural masculine instincts.

A gun-toting woman; a spurned wife and a man-hating teacher, cause Jarek to flee. But life becomes even more dangerous when he’s followed by his small-town enemies, who join forces with the State President of Women's War International, a female practised in the art of ridding the world of non-compliant males.

Fifteen year-old Fidel runs away to the city where he falls into trouble, then falls out again and then is too busy living to notice a quiet political revolution. He and his friends fall foul of the new government and, after a series of adventures, excitements and horrifying experiences, work out how to live, what to value and how to survive during a reign of terror that it seems is not going to end.

Frankie approaches life head on with a logical brain and healthy contempt for everyone not as smart as him, so his life isn't straightforward. After coping with a family death, abduction, theatrical success, evil property developers, gender-equality fanatics, con-men and women… a trip to a Himalayan monastery goes very, very wrong. Worse, the young men he meets are not what they seem. But Frankie enjoys his life and never complains - a true hero, strong, honest, decent, clear-thinking and not too bad looking, so surely one of the young men he befriends will turn out to be his equal?
