My first novel, previously published in Dutch but now translated.

It is the story of three gay travellers in Scotland, immediately after the Great War.

It is about double discrimination, about flowering and gradually subsiding love, of exploitation of tenants by the local gentry and of over-zealous clerics, but also about the development into adulthood against the background of a slowly changing society.

Nathan Valencus after turning twenty has had his marriage arranged. As normal as that is for a noble man in the land of Victoria, he's not looking forward to it. Inexperienced and sheltered, yet with a sharp wit, Nathan hopes to make sense of his new life, and the husband who demands a pure spouse.

Nathan's future is like nothing he ever expected.

Brad Carson is a thirty-something single gay nerdish bear-chub who lives on a farm in the countryside near the small city of Pleasant View, Kentucky. Officer Jack Albertson is a presumably straight police officer in Pleasant View who is close to Brad's age and is secretly the object of Brad's hottest fantasies. The simple fact that Brad does not know how to swim leads to an unlikely friendship which will eventually turn into so much more for both men and change their lives forever.

Pink hair, piercings, eccentric fashion, and a crippling, all-encompassing fear of commitment. Which is just fear of abandonment all dressed up for the party. Internal struggles aside, River has plenty of options.

The issue is, they all pale in comparison to what will be a monumentally bad decision.

They weren't supposed to meet. He wasn't supposed to like him. It was never supposed to become more.

The universe had different plans.

Things get messy and feelings get hurt.

Nick always knew he was different. He was born when his parents were teenagers, and his mother died when he was six months old. This left his father to raise him all alone. After vacationing in Virginia, Nick's dad decides to move them across the country. Adapting to his new life is hard, but just when he's ready to give up, he meets a new friend, Taylor. While all of this is happening, Nick learns that it's okay to be different.

It's 1984. Sixteen year-old Brian Temple is getting his first car - a muscle car from the golden era of the sixties - a car as old as himself. A car means freedom, and membership in the car crowd at school. But Brian also has a secret life - one his friends are unaware of - Brian is gay. And now he is about to meet someone who will change his life forever.

Two Sami boys, living in a small town in the extreme north of Norway, become friends while in primary school. They remain friends for years, but both discover, independently from each other, that they possess a trait, that will never be accepted by their people. But that is unacceptable for them. Which only meant, that the fight is on!

No, I'm not writing that fast. Actually, this story was planned to publish around this date, until I spontaneously decided to put "Pedik Russkiy" on line first. Since I've worked ahead I plan 1 part per week.
