Musings of a Messed Up Mind - 11. Peace - Truth - Alone In A Crowd

Three poems - Peace, Truth, Alone In A Crowd

Peace

Is a state of grace, of mind
That I can never achieve
It sits up there on a shelf so high
I can never reach.

Only a word, or an idea
For others but not for me
The ghosts that haunt me tell me so
Who else can I believe?

Truth

Who is the one that judges my truth?
Are you the one to say?
What’s wrong or a lie, who lives or dies
Who gave you the right anyway?

My life is my own, I’ve earned that right
I’ve more than paid my share
To live in the way that’s right for me
Why do you even care?

You want the truth, do you dare?
To ask me what I think
Oh no you don’t, I know you won’t
I’d push you to the brink.

Alone in a Crowd

I’ll never be part of the group
Always set apart
I don’t belong, it’s so clear
I just never saw it before

People will say ‘that's not the truth’
But we all know that it is
Be honest - see what’s in front of you
And when you turn back ….

Thanks to you all that read the flotsum of my mind.

I love Alone In A Crowd. I've been there, and know how it feels. You did justice to my feelings, I can tell you. Truth: I want to argue with you! It'll be fun. Well done - the poem brings that out of me. And Peace? I want to give you that, if I could. All three are wonderful. Thank you.

Parker, glad they worked for you. You're welcome to argue truth with me anytime. Peace is a tease.

Thanks for the review and for reading these.

Stunning writing, tim. As always. I won't attempt to interpret, or tell you how they made me feel, because I don't want to presume... but all three are very powerful. Gary.

You'd likely be right Gary! They are about me if you find them in Musings. Thank you for reading them and for your comments. I appreciate your support.

Hey Tim.

The poems are all well written - clear and to the point. The subjects are all debatable, but in the end, only you can come up with the right answer.

As usual, well done.

Thank you for your review Reader. Everyone should have their own feelings about poems .. how it makes them feel not necessarily what the poet does.

Thanks for reading and your comments. I appreciate it.

As always, your writing is beautiful and emotionally charged. Alone, in particular, spoke to me. I think we have all felt all alone in the middle of a crowded room before. You feel like that intense feeling of loneliness will never go away.

Hello LL! Thanks for reading these. I think you're right, most people have had that feeling at one time or another. When you get right down to it, all we really are is alone...

Thanks again for all of your support.. I appreciate it.
