Musings of a Messed Up Mind - 13. No Joy To The World
Christmas heartbreak
No Joy To The World
We decorate the Christmas tree
Coloured lights abound
Glass baubles we hang
Don’t forget the candy canes
You pull me close and smile
O’er head you hold mistletoe
And smiling - kiss me unfettered
We retire awaiting Christmas morn
I hear you sleep – as I lay
Afraid you will leave me
As new days dawn
Not enough for you any longer
Sadness creeps in like fog.
Though you reassure me
I cannot believe anyone
would want the wreck that is me
Christmas morn dawns sweetly
We love together but I am alone
Your heart is with another
I can see it in your eyes
