Weekly Wrap Up (Feb. 26 - Mar. 4)

I am always on the lookout for how to do the Weekly Wrap Up differently. Besides having someone else do it  is there any ideas or suggestions on a different format, layout, etc? I'm curious what the 10's of you want to see . I think I will do something that I haven't done before. I've totally mixed up the blog before. How about this time I do one completely in reverse  (except the Premium Story which is new this week  ) Sure, why not. Here is the look at the past weeks postings on

So, who is ready to bring in the New Year with a bang? Well let's do something a little different as we all here at GA enjoyed the holidays so let's finish off with you taking over! But what the h e double hockey sticks, lets ask you what you are going to make your resolution to be this upcoming year .

First off, I want to give a big Thank You to Cia for handling the blog for me this week, much appreciated, but I'm back and we have a lot to look at. However, there's something that needs to be addressed before we look back at this week's postings. As many might remember, the authors here at Gay Authors reached a milestone of 100 Million words! To celebrate, we decided to run a couple of contests. Thank you to everyone who participated, but now it's time to announce the winners, you will be cont

Out with the old and in with the new!!! No I'm not referring to Renee and myself but the passing of 2014 and now on our way into 2015. Renee is taking a much deserved vacation or she is recovering from a massive hangover from New Year's Eve. I'll let you all decide   We had a busy week on Blog for the end of the year and into the new one.   Monday was a chance for Cia to bring us the CSR Discussion Day with Delores Esteban. Not only did they discuss Delores' story Space Pioneer, but also g

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 03 - Sept. 09)

Did you put away your whites? I boxed up my white jeans, my white joggers, my white cargos, my white shorts, my white undies, my white socks, my white shirts (dress, polo, t, and others), my white sneakers, and white jackets and even my white belt .  Now what am I talking about ? When I was growing up, the saying was you could not wear white after Labour Day. Where that came from, I have no clue. But being the fashionista that I am, I don't do any of it . Sort of a rebel with a cause .

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 7 - Aug. 13)

We are nearly half way through the summer and you know what that means for North American people... Back to Skewl!!  I guess that is dependent on if you are a student of some level or if you are a working stiff like me  Believe it or not, up to a few years ago I was under the impression that the primary and secondary education all over the continent was basically from the beginning of September until the following June. How wrong I was . From what I understand, some of the southern US they

I was just about to head to bed and rest my weary head, when I said to myself, "Self, you have to do the weekly Wrap Up!" So here it is .   Also, still looking for some more completed story suggestions to feature     Monday, Cia had our CSR Discussion Day from February's CSR story:   Then on Wednesday, Renee brought us another great addition of Improve & Encourage:   On Friday, we had some prompts, but I guess I was asleep at the wheel and maybe we d

What to say this week?   Oh, I thought I would like to pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to our LBO, aka Slytherin, who has some exciting changes coming up in her life and has stepped aside from the Site Moderation Team. Her participation and help with the behind the scenes work on the site has been a great contribution over the years! So, on behalf of the Site Staff and hopefully the membership, thanks LBO.   BTW, LBO stands for Little Blue One, not to be confused with the

So I heard this song early Saturday morning and here we are, early Sunday morning and it is still in my head. So I thought I'd share with all of you    Since it is early in the morning, in my time zone, let's wrap up the wrap up. Monday, we had some pretty exciting news here at GA  We got to introduce our newest Promising Author:   We gave Aaron his time in the spotlight until Myr dropped by with a Graeme Guide entry on Thursday: Then our Prompt Team go

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 3 - Dec. 9)

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas   I may have mentioned we had a big dump of snow before Halloween, but that was all melted off since the first week of November. Then we have had temps in the mid to high teens without a drop of moisture until last Thursday. We got a good dumping of snow. I would like my Christmas to be white, but not looking like it as the temp will be in the mid teens (celcius) again next week. Maybe I will have to make a trip to the North Pole   In the mea

So what can I do to make the Weekly Wrap Up different this week?  I could ask someone else to do it  Or, I can throw everything in the blender and see what it comes out as   So no usual Sun to Mon this week and in order, lets see what happens. Also, tonight I will be watching one of the greatest rivalries in sports, not basketball , not baseball not football (either kind) , but the coolest sport on earth, ice hockey The rivalry is between the Edmonton Oilers *spit* and the Calgary Flames *Y

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week. It's time for our weekly look back at what happened in the GA News Blog, which is a great way to see what you might have missed!   On Monday Louis (LJH) provided us with a review of "Roommates" by Signature Author: Krista. He thoroughly enjoyed the story and if the other comments are anything to go by, so did some of the other readers. Also, it looks to me like his review even drew a new reader to the story, that's always a great thing and one of our

This week was a busy week. Don't forget that the 15th at 2pm EST is the last chance to get your entries in for the Secret Santa Short Story Contest. Unfortunately, if they're not in by then, I can't include them in the voting that will start on the 16th. Good luck to all the entrants.   On Monday, Cia announced the choices for the December CSR. On the 8th day of Christmas, by true love gave to meeeeee, divorce papers!!! 😮    Well, that isn't how the song goes  But if any of you do get divorce papers on Sunday, I am so sorry    To tell the truth, all I can remember from that song is the five golden rings, two turtle doves and a penguin in a pear tree  This shall lead into the question of the week! Hmmm, do I have a question of the week every week? So rather than just asking what your favourite Christmas song is, I want to know

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 30 - Aug. 5)

Well we just had a false alert go off in my GA and I'm 100% blaming Myr  He made misleading comment about one of the better selling gay books becoming a movie. So naturally I ran to Amazon Prime to watch it. To heck with the Weekly Wrap Up until much later  I get to Prime and I'm thinking those rat bastardsions, they are not showing it in Canada!!!  Then go back to the post and see it is only a trailer on YouTube. I seem to be doing this more and more often, not reading everything. Is it ag

Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 16 - Jan. 22)

What to do, what to do, what to do? The company that I work for has a fiscal year of May to April. So our holiday calendar year is also May to April. Turns out that I actually have 4 weeks to use up, due to carryovers. I'm thinking I'm going to carry over 2 again and try to use them in the summer. But now that I'm off this upcoming week, I have nothing really to do . I thought of visiting @Krista in Kentucky, but it is warmer up here right now . That and the promise, "If you show your face

Once again from yours truly... a look back at this week on Gay Authors!   This week's blogs started with a review by Wicked Witch of The Rider's Pride by dkstories. This novel length story is a fanfiction of McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern stories. Dan did a great job creating a story in much the same manner of the original work; Wicked Witch called it a "superb piece of fanfiction". As a fan of the series since I was a girl, I have to agree!   Wednesday brought something a little differen

So what is up in your neck of the woods?  I mean weather related. I know that there is hurricane after hurricane battering the SE US, I know the West of the US is on fire, we have smoke and breathing advisories up here in Canadia 😮 I know it has been a early fall for some areas. What is happening over in Europe and Asia right about now? Then we can ask for a weather update from the South Americans, Africans  and Australians for the southern peeps who are transitioning to spring. Did I hear

Oh my you people are lucky - you get to have me for two weeks in a row now! I gotta thank Renee for letting me help out, though it also helps her have some extra time to do some other things. And when you look at how busy it is here at the GayAuthors.org News Blog, you can see how the extra time can help. I mean, we started this week with the CSR Discussion Day for Your Alpha, My Mate by Wolfwriter. To kick off the discussion, Cia had a great interview with Wolfwriter about a variety of topics a
