Weekly Wrap Up!

Wow, what a busy week here at the GA News Blog. I don't have time to be my witty self today We had one of our busiest weeks since we went to our new format.   Monday we kicked off the week with the CSR Discussion Day with the Author of Penguin joining everyone in the blog for a live chat. Valkyrie participated in a grueling interview with Cia earlier where we learned Valkyrie dressed up for the questions in a pair of jeans and a purple t-shirt . Several Members weighed in later in the day to

I love our community and how many members just dive in and get so totally involved. On Monday, we had a great review from Sasha Distan, a relatively new member who nevertheless has already made almost 400 posts and has a reputation of over 1100! Sasha reviewed Nemesis by Author Thorn Wilde, another new member who has become very involved with GayAuthors!   On Wednesday, we saw July's edition of Dark's popular feature, Ask An Author - with this month's interviewees being Luc Rosen, Libby Drew a

In North America we are a week a way from celebrating two of the three county's big parties. July 1st is Canada Day, and July 4th is Independence Day. After two years of shut downs, I imagine lots and lots of people are looking forward to letting loose for a day or two. Myself, I'm heading up to a lake and relaxing and enjoying the first days of summer  What sucks is that I have to do some coverage for a boss that is away too, so I'll be logging on the laptop each day for hopefully only an

It's that time of the week again! In case you missed any of what's been going on this week, never fear, because we'll take a quick peek at everything that we looked at from Monday on. Are you worried you might have missed a story update from one of your favorite authors? We'll help you out there too with the story updates from all of GA's promoted authors. I'm not going to go in any particular order this week, because I want to start out with Thursday's post.   In case you missed it, the 2016

3 days to spring 🌻 🐦I found out it is the 19th this year instead of the normal 20th due to being a leap year. Makes sense. So what are you planning for the Spring Solstice or if you want to be correct, the Spring Equinox? I was thinking of going outside striping down to some shorts, last year when I said naked, some of you didn't like the idea of that , and frolicking in the fields. Wait, although tomorrow will be a record breaking 18 C (64.4 F), by Monday we go back down to under -10

Hello Fellow GAers, or can it be GAyers? It is funny how some cities' residents names are made. For example I live in Calgary, we are Calgarians. When I lived in Lethbridge for 10 years, I said we were Lethbians . Needless to say my fellow Lethbians didn't find it as humourous. Jeez, its a joke  The province next to me, Saskatchewan, their peoples call themselves Saskatchewanites. And then the city of Moose Jaw in that province call themselves Moose Javians. Hi, my name is Steve. First and

But I could have seen myself writing the Rodeo Song back in the day . Can you imagine back it the day when all bad words actually got bleeped out   No children under the age of 18 permitted to watch this video. Just a reminder to all, you have less than 2 months to get your favourite GA staff member their Christmas present.  Maybe I shouldn't say that, I will be like Harry Potter on Christmas morning receiving presents from his Aunt and Uncle and lovely cousin Dudley! One year a 50 pence coin which is 60 cents USD, a toothpick and finally a single tissue . Believe it or not, that is my first HP reference in my life   Now if you couldn't wait for Christmas, Val had an early present for you again th

Ho hum First day of spring came and we got snow snow snow 😛 Definitely there are those of you out their that are giggling like skewl gurls on the playground  Well I hope your comeuppance comes soon . So was looking for a place that I could find some more gay themed movies than Prime and Nexflix and then came across a free streaming service called Tubi which I believe is available in Canada and the US of A. Their is a lot of movies on there, some not so good quality and some good quali

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! Now it's time to take a look back at the week here at the Gay Authors News Blog.   On Monday we took at a look at a free eBook by Stephanie L Danielson called "For The Heart of Phillip". Louis Harris provided us a wonderful review that certainly garnered some new interest in this wonderful story. If you haven't already read his review, check it out and if the story sounds interesting to you, then you can download it in GA's eb

I hope everyone has had a great week and an even better weekend. Before we get into this week's wrap up, I'd just like to do a quick reminder that Spring Anthology entries are do to the proof team in only 5 days!!! Hopefully we'll have a few more come in before the deadline, otherwise I might have to try and write one and we don't want that!!! LOL. Now, lets take a look at what happened in the GA News Blogs this week!   For our Monday Featured Story, Timothy M provided us with a review for Tr

Well just don't get close. Got home early Tuesday morning and felt a really bad cold come on about 4 hours later. Then proceeded to sleep about 20 to 22 hours per day up until yesterday. Went through all the stages of a really bad cold. Yesterday decided to do a Covid test and either someone on the plane or in Hawaii was kind enough to share . Feeling pretty good though, now. Many thanks and appreciations go out to Cia for covering me for the last 2 weeks  It is nice to have her to take ove

Renee has allowed me to learn how to do the Weekly Wrap Up this week as she will soon be taking some much deserved time off. Under her expert tutelage I hope I have done this right. Any errors are entirely my fault, but if you want to air your disappointments about my job, make sure to email Renee at renee@gayauthors.org.   Reminder: Today's reminder has a special meaning to a lot of us here at GA. Trebs would have turned 49 today if he was still with us . Once again we'd like to remind you

Spring has sprung and it seems like everyone's mood is picking up after which has been a long hard winter for some areas in the Northern Hemisphere. Other areas in Southern Hemisphere are, I am hoping, heading into a mild winter.   One of the things about Spring is that they always seem to bring the dreaded Spring Cold. Renee is sidelined with one right now so I have stepped in to ensure she is taking her meds, hot baths, and getting as much rest as possible. Join me in wishing Renee a speedy

Well I am finally home after my 7734 km/4805 mile drive! Thank you Cia for helping me out last week.   First off, are you like me and getting lots and lots of notifications? Well even though we didn't have a Tech Tuesday, Myr showed us all how to authorize what we get notified on. Check it out here by clicking 'Read more...' on the big red bar on any page or via the announcement. Or just go check out the actual options to selection what you are getting notifications for, not just how

They say a picture is worth a thousand words  This is what it looked like in my next of the woods after 3 days of temps in the mid 20's C, (77F) which were records, to dropping down below 0 overnight (32 F) and getting around 15 cm (6 inches) of snow  Just so you know, even though I'm happy to see some much needed moisture and the first snow fall of the year, I blame this 100% on @Krista   She wished this on me for like the past month and a half.  Now rumour has it snow has been spotted bel

Well howdy ho good neighbours   So let me start off to say that all the blogs and comments from some of the Northern Hemisphere peeps stating that spring is starting to show up or it's coming... STOP  In my neck of the woods March and April I believe are our heaviest snowfall months of the years. Get a huge dump, melts off a few days later, huge dump, melts off a few days later, repeat. I sure we sell more windshield (windscreen  ) washer fluid than most places in the next two months.

First off, I need to remind everyone that they have one month to go out and buy me my birthday present Well we are about to head into the last month of the 'Summer Months' in North America. I know the southern states kids, teens and adults are back in skewl and the northern ones and Canada are about to head back in about a week. Not totally clear on how Europe works  Summer here is also a time where we slow down at GA. With College/University Students home for the summer and working or suc

First off, a PSA. If you live in one of the areas of the globe that has daylight savings time and you spring your clocks forward, but forgot to last night... This week has been a busy week, but before you take a look at what's happened in the blog, take a minute and take part in today's poll! Lucky I'm doing this tonight before I go to bed, as tomorrow, don't come looking to borrow a cup of sugar (do people actually do that?) as I might bite your head off . Yes, last night was this biannual silly thing called Daylight Savings Time. If you don't have this annoying time shift in your neck of the woods, it resets our clocks an hour ahead or behind to accommodate for longer days for the summer and shorter days for the winter and energy consumption. Unfortunately Saturday night was the ki
