What elements make for a believable character? What can writers add that aids in the complete and utter suspension of disbelief? Lots of thing come to mind like quirks, back stories, associations, inner thoughts, tribulations - and the list goes on and on. However, something many authors have done with beloved recurring characters is to give them hobbies. Certainly Sherlock Holmes had several and varied 'pursuits'. Agatha Christie had Miss Marple constantly knitting. Let's try rounding out
I think we have a topic of what are you listening too, what are you reading off site, but do we have one of what are you watching? Well let me know here
Personally this weekend I watched a series, 2 seasons, called Ragnarok. It is dubbed into English from Danish as I like to watch and listen to a show, not read it. That is what books are for, right? It is an interesting take on Norse Mythology put into modern day settings. So if you sez to yourself, great another super hero movie about T
Jekyll And Hyde
Something that can really stand out in a story while you’re reading it...and not in a good way...is the flip flopping nature of the characters that are supposed to be carrying the whole project on their shoulders and moving things forward. You see...there’s a point when the characters use the story to grow and evolve, and times when the story uses the characters to grow and evolve. The problem comes from writers who don’t keep it in mind that these two motivations have to be
2017 brought us the next edition of the GA secret author series, and that's no joke! Even though it's June first, not April first, check out the ten stories in the April Fool's contest here:

What did you think when you read the headline? Did you remember the song from the nineties? Or the film from 2022? Or even a cool trip and you can’t wait to tell us all about it? Insert *eyebrow waggle* here.
Anyway, here are this week’s prompts:

Your protagonist spots an irresistible offer to rent their dream vehicle for a weekend and invites a special person for a joyride. Even though I want to know everything, what kind of vehicle, who has been invited, where they go t

Another week, another day, another hour . I had a nice short week last week as in Canadia we had the Victoria Day Long Weekend last weekend, and I believe some 'mericans have the Memorial Day Long Weekend going on right now. I believe our friends back across the pond in the UK have this weekend as one of their Bank Holidays. Tomorrow I do believe the French have Whit Monday, I also think in the Australian Capital Region they have Reconciliation Day on Monday, but does the the rest of Australia
Rough Draft
When I first began writing stories for Nifty, my very first gay themed stories ever, everything that you see in the Nifty Archive are all first drafts. For the first two or three years, in fact. I didn’t have a whole lot of space, didn’t have a lot of privacy, and I didn’t have a lot of time. Plus, I was working out how to write and format using HTML code for the very first time, and even though I had a pretty good idea how to structure and put a story together...to say that I ha
Recently our cat Boo had an infection. It was difficult, both emotionally and mentally, dealing with his illness and his suffering. He is part of our familiy, there when we get home, when we wake up, and go to bed. He's Randy's most constant companion as he works at home. But animals can't tell us what's wrong. They communicate pain, discomfort, and other physical experiences the best they can, but how much do we really know?
That made me select the following two prompts.
#135

This word prompted me to pause for breakfast, porridge.
Since I like my porridge savory, I put odd things in it. People typically make faces when they hear my additions. This led me to consider inporridgibility. Are there things I wouldn't put in porridge? Yes, there are. Tuna for one.
What would you dear readers never put in your porridge?
Thanks @sandrewn for making one of my favourite words even more interesting. I have used it in relation to people and their behaviour and some people have used it in relation to mine.
Even so I had not come across it in Philosophy. Unfortunately I don't have access to the full article at present and will need to go through a library. The concept is that a proposition is incorrigible if it cannot be corrected; that is, it is not possible that belief in it should be found to be mistaken. Robi
Never used some form of incorrigible? I find this hard to believe. But I suppose I have an unfair advantage. I've been called incorrigible more than a few times.
Most of the words of late offered here, I have never used and at my age, with the time I have left, probably never will. Life goes on.
I came across this, found it to be interesting and offer it for your thoughts.

I hope there are many comments to come on this one, I would like to see what you all think. Then offer my two cents worth, once the dust has settled.
That so sad. I only start read his stories few week ago and they really good and even helps me with school things and thinking what to do. Feel sorry for all his friends here to.
Everybody is undefeated at the start of the season. Whether the fan's cheery optimism is justified gets sorted out by playing the games.
Except for Cleveland fans. They are cursed to suffer.
