Weekly Wrap Up (Apr. 13 - Apr. 19)

Well Happy Easter if you celebrate :)

Well Happy Passover if you celebrate :)

Well Happy Long Weekend for everyone else :) Unless you don't get a long weekend and then in that case

I was looking at the calendar and noticed that April is just 2/3rds gone :o I really haven't seen too much spring signs other than the snow gone. We are dry, really dry and grass fires seem to pop up here and there. We have precipitation in the forecast but it really isn't enough :(. Long hot summer coming, but how can you look forward to that when you can't probably breath due to forest fire smoke!

Okay Steve, move onto the positive :) For those that do celebrate Easter, in not necessarily the religious realm, but maybe more the commercial one, how was your childhood? Did you wake up for an Easter Egg hunt? I did, but the deal was my sisters got the chocolate eggs, which I had to leave if I found, and I got the hard boiled coloured eggs :(. My sisters seemed more than willing to leave those for me :P. Growing up as a diabetic, I did have different rules. I guess the good news is today, I imagine that with the medications and delivery methods you can now search for the chocolate ones too ;) But what about you? This is a late Easter this year. In my neck of the woods it is usually wet or snowing so hunts were done indoor at home. I hear about outdoor easter egg hunts but around here they are only usually at the dog parks :P. They'll eat anything :o

We should just move along into the Weekly Wrap Up at this point of time. There was way too many emoticons in that last run on paragraph ;).

Monday, Parker Owens from the Review Team presented a pretty in depth and interesting story review:

Tuesday was Myr's look into the Horror genre :

Thursday was another exciting day as we got to see the second round of Poets and their works for the Poetry Anthology:

Whew. Just saying I'm exhausted with wrapping up this weeks GA News Blogs :P

Someone who should be tired, but isn't, is Myr who gave us a whole new bunch of Words fo the Day:

laconic, grovel, acerbic, expedient, potpourri, chutzpah, nomadic

One of my favorite easter memories was the first time I got to help dying the eggs the nights before easter with my mother, my siblings couldn't be bothered as they had 'other' stuff to do...to me it was a magical time spent with mom.

Our spring has been wet, windy and a tad chilly...yesterday the temp's hit 83 degrees...wozer a rarity for central Massachusetts. Today was the first time the sump pump has been quiet for the day...

Had the family over and the 10lb ham was more than sufficient, sent everyone home with some and will make some split, green pea soup using the hambone and the leftover and ham...

We always had a fish fry on Good Friday and then colored the hard-boiled eggs afterwards.  My parents hid them on Easter, along with baskets for me and my brother.  The eggs we found would be made into deviled eggs to have with dinner.
