C James Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Signing up is not mandatory, nor is it binding, but it does help give us an idea how many will be participating. The theme is "The Rainy Day" And the guidelines are pinned at the top of the Anthology forum. I'll add my own name to the list for this one, at least I'll try to have something to submit. CJ
Menzoberranzen Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I shall write something. And, now that I've signed up, I'll actually finish it!
Lugh Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 hum I guess I might come up with something for this one.. mebbe.
Bondwriter Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 In for this one (damn, now I'll have to do research!)
Site Administrator Graeme Posted May 30, 2007 Site Administrator Posted May 30, 2007 I've already sent my entry to my editor, so I think I can almost guarantee I'll have something to submit....
Bardeara Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I've already sent my entry to my editor, so I think I can almost guarantee I'll have something to submit.... Same Vivian has mine now.

Razor Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I ain't saying I'll do it. I'm saying that if I finish this chapter of Ana before the sun comes up there's a good possibility I'll do it. Maybe. Kinda sorta.
Ieshwar Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Have already completed it. Just got to have it edited! So, I'm definitely in. Ieshwar
C James Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 Wow, thanks everyone! BTW, just a note; I'll be away, starting tomorrow, for nearly two weeks, so if you submit an anthology entry, you won't get a reply confirming receipt until I return. CJ
shadowgod Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 Hrmmm... I've been on the fence over it. I think of something, then figure no. Think of something else and figure nah again. So the short answer is, I'm gonna see what I can pull out my bag-o-tricks. Steve
SonoLuminus Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 If a hurricane counts as a "rainy day", then I may have something. I know, I keep promising and then not delivering, but it's a bit scary putting your writing out there for the first time. That, and I've been incredibly lazy. Is it ok to submit something written much earlier, as long as it hasn't been posted or published anywhere before?
Site Administrator Graeme Posted June 26, 2007 Site Administrator Posted June 26, 2007 I know, I keep promising and then not delivering, but it's a bit scary putting your writing out there for the first time. Believe it or not, but we do know what you're talking about. All of us have gone through that first time Is it ok to submit something written much earlier, as long as it hasn't been posted or published anywhere before? My read of the requirements says it should be fine. They want entries that match the theme, and that GA is the first place that story is posted. It doesn't matter when it was written -- just that it hasn't appeared anywhere else in public. Oh, and a hurricane usually involves some rain, so I think it'll match the theme

We already have one approved submission that features a hurricane.
Ieshwar Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 it's a bit scary putting your writing out there for the first time. Don't worry. The goats and echidnas don't bite! We have tamed them well. Seriously, anthologies helped me A LOT! As a writer, it's quite great to be among other writers who have worked the same theme. And the reader base of anthologies is little larger too which is better for the writer! Go on! Ieshwar

Ieshwar Echidnas may not bite, but you gotta watch out for those spines! Ouch!!! I love the anthologies here too. My first story to go online was in last year's summer anthology. I was darn nervous, but it went great, and was a wonderful experience. They really are wonderful for encouraging new writers; Kitty created something very special indeed.
