[DomLuka] TOU coming to an end?

I want to finish TLW first. TOU should be coming to an end shortly after that.

 

The above quote was pulled from Dom's latest Blog Entry (titled *sniff*).

 

Are we all so numb with the upcoming ending of TLW that it doesn't even phase us to find out that TOU will be coming to an end shortly after that?

 

If there were ever another WTF moment, this is one of those for me. I mean, Quinn's only scored a 2 on the Benji Whore Scale (well, 3 if you count Marissa).

 

Sigh...I know all good things must come to an end, but, but....I NEED CHOCOLATE! STAT! <I declare I'm having one of my spells>

I think the whole point of this story was Quinn's self discovery and his coming out to himself. He's pretty much reached that point. His getting laid is just 'gravy'.

I think Quinn will come out to his family, but I also think that's where Dom will end the story. His family's reaction won't matter because the bigger issue will be Quinn's acceptance of himself.

JC and Sharon..you are both right...but as we know Dom saying he is going to finish the story could take longer then a chapter or two...and the coming out process with his self realization I hope gets extended to his family and friends so all get closure. I also hope that Jude and Quinn get more then a kiss together....and Dom did say we will learn more about Jude too. Add to that he has said that he will start a separate story involving other characters in TOU and mentioned Taylor...Dom said Taylor would have a Boyfriend and it woud be another TOU character..so my bet is that its going to be Brad.

 

and Dom envisoned 10 chapters, as Vic noted, for TLW and we are up to 28..soon to be 29 or 29A and B or up to 30 chapters...so I am guessing it will take more then a chapter or two for TOU to conclude (or this part of it)

 

and nice to see you all like chocolate (you know my choice in that regard...Hersheys..but a shame I can't eat much of it.....6 days a gym would be defeated and my hypothyroid would make me turn into a huge Hershey Kiss blimp and never mind the tons of carbs in Rainbow Jelly Beans and I love both Hersheys and Jelly Beans..and ice cream..reading all these posts is making me hungry not to mention anxious for more then just one more TOU chapter:)

i dont think that there will be a taylor/brad hook up because dom does not act like the kind of writer who would go with the gay best freind theme. i think brad is as str8 as nicky and ryan and that does not leave taylor any options from tou. dom said a character he already introduced. he did not say what story.

I agree with you. At this juncture, everything we know about Brad suggests that he is straight. Recently, in one of Comicality's forums, he asked what writers do that we all found irritating. One of the things mentioned (and that I personally agree with) was when all the characters in a story turn out to be gay. Dom's never made that mistake before, and I think having Brad discover he's gay and having him get together with Taylor would certainly cross that line. I think it's highly unlikely.

JC...you may be correct. I just note that in one of the chapters that Quinn mentions that he and Brad had a sexual encounter together. It was briefly mentioned. So, we can gather from reading it that Brad wasn't interested in his best friend. However, it may be that he is Gay just not turned on by Quinn, whom is his best friend and maybe thought that Quinn isn't Gay and was just experimenting so that he wasn't into Quinn in that way. Just me guessing like the rest of us.

 

Its just, IMHO, given the locker encounter, and in several other scenes that Brad has Taylor's sense of humor and love of laughter and teasing his friends but in a good natured way. Thus, I was hoping that Brad and Taylor become an item. No use speculating and hoping beyond that since the old saying "time will tell and reveal all things" and "what is meant to be, will be" (even in fictional DomaLuka Land and based upon what Dom has decided will be...but its fun to guess....so, who knows...it could be someone else and from another story. Whatever happens, it will be nice to see Taylor's story.

 

I would also like to see what happens with Trina. I hope she gets a GF....she is cool and looks after her friends and is very loyal to them, which is to be greatly admired.

Sharon...you are too funny...I read your post and roared.....Well you know whom I speculated about......I just see that Taylor and Brad both have a good sense of humor...but we shall see....and its fun to guess and speculate.

 

Aaron would give anyone a run for their money, even very cool Taylor! I know that Aaron, in his own way, has a coolness or edge (I still say there is much to learn about Aaron so I am no way drawing bad conclusions about him just as I won't about Dennis....they are complex and multi demensional in their own ways..which is what I love about Dom, since he doesn't give us "black and white" and many "grays" in characters' personalities and lives.

 

How about Taylor ending up with Reilly...now that would be cool.....Taylor could bring out the shyness in Reilly and Reilly is cute and funny in his own way and in IMHO he sees the good in someone that others miss (i.e. he first mentioned to Owen and Aiden there is a good "softer" side to Dennis when he spoke of how Dennis loves his dog Valentine and they have had some nice talks) We know the acts of kindness that Taylor has done for Quinn that helped him in big ways.

 

So, Reily and Taylor would have a good vibe together....and be a cool couple.

 

So, that to me would be a super Dom couple.....they can be on the cover of the next weekly edition of DomaLuka (that new publication that outsells "People"

I believe the "collective maturity" can be accounted for by one simple emotion: denial. It seems that we're all pretty focused on TLW right now, since we know for sure it will be ending soon. Once it's done, though, and TOU starts up again, I'm sure the maturity will come to an end. It doesn't take much (one chapter with a slightly ambiguous ending) to inspire pages of comments...we'll be back to our typical insanity on the TOU front soon. I love Quinn as much as anyone, but you have to admit he has a singular ability to inspire craziness in us poor readers. And once it hits that Dom is actually ending TOU (in a few years, of course), I'm sure any maturity you're seeing now will be a distant and fond memory.
