I'll Be Home for Christmas

These two get me almost each time I hear them. The holidays are the emotional time of year for me.

Ok, I cry a lot but usually not with songs. The only one that I can remember crying for is 'The Letter' from the West End musical Billy Elliot. I saw the musical in London and bought the CD at the end of the show; now every time I listen to the song I feel this knot in my chest lol...maybe its because I can still remember the performance but...here it is if anyone wants to hear it.

That's how I feel about I Love a Rainy Night by Eddie Rabbit. It's the most bloody awful song ever written. :(

Key to my life. (Boyzone)

--------And these lines---------

Rain on the window covers the trace

Of all the tears that I've had to waste

And now I'm missing you so

And I won't let you go away

Stain on the desktop where coffee cups lay

And memories of you forever will stay

And the scent of your perfume

And the smile on your face will remain

"First Song For B" by Devendra Banhart. Although it may not necessarily bring tears to my eyes, it does evoke something close.

It doesn't normally make me cry, but still....

There's this song it plays on the country music channel all the time. It doesn't make me cry my eyes out or nothing but makes me smile and kinda cry happy tears.

This song gets me its by Rihanna its called 'The Last Song'. I first heard this song a week ago. When all my emotions were all jumbled up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gchUIwBps2k

Lyrics: The Last Song

HERE WE ARE

MID-AIR OFF OF THE CLIFF

STARING DOWN AT THE END AGAIN

BUT THEN AGAIN

MAYBE WE'RE FINALLY ON

THE ROAD THAT'S HEADED AWAY

FROM ALL YOUR COMPLAINING

OF HEARING THE SAME SONG

BUT BABE YOU WON'T HEAR IT WHEN I'M GONE

& IT’S TIME TO TURN ON

THE LAST SONG

THE LAST SONG

WHAT IF YOU WASTED LOVE AND ALL OF OUR TIME DISAPPEARED?

AND THIS SAD SONG ENDS UP BEIN THE LAST SONG YOU'LL EVER HEAR?

IT WAS HARD

BUT I'D DO IT AGAIN

HOLDING HANDS WITH MY FRIEND AGAIN

BUT THEN AGAIN

MAYBE WE GAVE OUR ALL

A SONG THEY'LL NEVER FORGET

BABY LET EM PLAY IT

MAYBE IT'LL SAVE THE WORLD

THEY GON MISS HEARING IT WHEN IT’S GONE

WHAT IF WE LOVED EVERY MOMENT THAT WE COULD SPARE

AND THE PERFECT SONG ENDS UP BEING THE LAST SONG YOU'LL EVER HEAR

YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE THE SONG’S GONNA FADE

THE LAST SONG YOU HEAR IS THE ONE YOU MADE

YOUR SONG WAS BEAUTIFUL

THAT'S WHY I STARTED SINGING IT

BUT THIS SONG IS OURS

SO LETS PLAY IT TIL THE END

EVEN IF ITS

I have to have a pretty high blood to alcohol ratio before I actually shed a tear because of a song, but when I'm in the aforementioned state I've been known to violently bawl my eyeballs out because of one of the following songs:

(wow, this one gets me even when I'm not drunk)

(this one, too, but only because I'm a veteran)

Pain of Salvation - Iter Impius(BIG one for me)

Kamelot - Abandoned

Third Eye Blind - Jumper

Shadows Fall - Another Hero Lost

(I got lazy, just search youtube for any of the rest of the songs you wanna hear...)

Five For Fighting - Superman

Newsies - The World Will Know (I know, it makes no sense, but I cry in a non-sad way because of this song)

Ben Folds Five - Brick

Better Than Ezra - A Lifetime

Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven

U2 - One

Lisa Loeb - Stay

Elton John and George Michael - Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me (live)

Everclear - Wonderful

Kenny Loggins and Messina - Danny's Song

Rascal Flatts - I'm Movin' On

Rascal Flatts- What Hurts The Most

Rascal Flatts - I Melt

Little Big Town - Bring It On Home

Gary Allen - See If I Care

Lonestar - What Might've Been

Brad Paisley - The World (sweet)

The Wreckers - Leave The Pieces

Highwaymen - Born and Raised in Black and White

There are tons more, since if I'm in "that kinda mood" I'll let anything push me over the edge, but there's a taste for you.

Easy.

1) All Time "The Finale", Mahler's 2nd Symphony, "The Resurrection" (The ladies only sing for a bit, wait for the chorus and orchestra, and while this performance is certainly not my fav, you'll get the gist of it.)

2) "The Prayer", Josh Groban and Charlotte Church

3) "

", Cover by Espen Lind, Kurt Nilsen, Askil Holm, Alejandro Fuentes

4) "

", Cover of Madonna's song by Susan Boyle.

Tons more.

I almost forgot one of the most tear-jerking songs I've ever heard:

This song gets me every time.

I keep forgetting to post more here...this one's an old one in keeping with the Christmas Season, from Red Sovine, IIRC, Teddy Bear, works every time.

I listen to it a lot when I need to write something which is really sad but I like listening to music which makes me feel something because sometimes it's therapeutic to have a bit of a cry. That's just me though lol.

Oh and I'll have a look through some of these :)

I have to STRONGLY agree. It's just not you Kiwi. Crying is VERY therapeutic. Releases a lot of pent up anguish, anger, sadness etc..
