I've been tinkering with a new poem. I suspect - but don't know for sure - we all have people like this person in our lives. What do you think? Can you relate...?

----

Does the loudest baby in the room

Always get picked up first?

The person who cries out

with his every plea

“Look at me! Look at Me!!!”

The point is,

we all hurt.

Where is this Cry Baby’s

humanity when hurt

in others makes him

lash out to remind them

his pain is more serious

than anyone else's…?

The best medicine for him,

this loudest Cry Baby in the room,

is to be set down and ignored.

Let him crave attention alone in his room

and discover how to forge thoughts for others.

How interesting the coincidence - this poem came to me right after reading some remarks by the Dalai Lama about compassion and self-forgetting. How very apt.

Welcome home, Emi. We've missed you... Your poem is awesome, really shines in the moment of stunned reaction. I can almost see you standing there, blinking in disbelief. hugs

Reading @Parker Owens' Spice Rack this morning had me thinking about @skinnydragon. I miss him, and his synesthesia crops up in my mind sometimes. This experimental Cinquain is for you, buddy. Miss ya....

------

David:

Words

savor

his colors –

blue, red, orange, green –

him.

Say them

and he will see

hues most magical,

taste them with his resplendent mind,

and pause....

Words,

my friend,

mean as much

as all senses

do.

Sending you HUGS AC. A beautiful tribute. 🤗

And now I see Skinny, and miss him, too.

There won't
Be a least bad
Problem, always, in our
Hapless lives; than to suffer through
Big ones

Moon sighed, tired, letting it's glow fade,

As the white replaces the inky blue

Letting the sun spread

It's beautiful golden hue...

Bit outta place...but thought to describe the turn from night to morning:)...as I woke a little early today

Wow. Never thought of like this. And I loved the part where you portrayed the night sky as inky blue rather than pitch black. That's definitely wow factor of this poem. You poem shine like the sun...
