Cane23 Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Good morning good people! This time differences are interesting! 😁 It's 7.30 CET! I've been to book fair on Sunday. I haven't found books by Murakami and Julian Barnes I wanted to buy, so, it was just visiting. Since I'm actively reading online stories, not much time for printed books! 1 4

Popular Post Gary L Posted October 30 Popular Post Posted October 30 Not a great week here in Valencia. 60+ killed in flash flooding throughout southern part of province. Have a look at websites to see the horrors. Bizarrely, north of the city we have sunshine and I have sheets drying on the terrace whilst 20 miles away a colleague of Paco has flooding up to ceiling of the ground floor…… 1 8

After recent similar flooding in the USA, we understand that help in the recovery to reach those who need it, will be very difficult. Our hearts go out to all affected. Anything you feel you want to share about your local area, please do. 💔 2 4

On a clear day I can see the coastal mountain zone which was badly affected, here on north side we just had a few storms. During which a terrified weinerdog puppy pushed me out of bed and I crashed into furniture and then a stone floor. Nothing is broken but slow recovery muscle-wise. I can just walk around the block with the puppies before my leg gives way. Good side is I can catch up on a few stories….. take care. 6

This year has had too many events. Flash floods, typhoons, hurricanes... they are all a reminder that there are forces much more powerful than lowly humans can truly comprehend. My heart goes out to everyone in your country affected by the flooding... and also to a terrified little doxie puppy. 🩷 7

After a horrific flood in the 1950’s, the river Turia’s path was diverted to the other side of the city whilst the original riverbed is now a fantastic park, great for cycling etc. the new floodway is incredibly wide and there is hardly any water in it except in winter. To see it overflowing was. Beyond belief. I used drive by every day to work. After nearly a year with no rain it was almost to be expected. hugs 4 1
Kitt Posted November 1 Posted November 1 The lack of water is just as destructive. The reservoir by the barn is so low you can see the stumps of trees removed during the construction 20 yrs ago, some 100 ft off the usual shoreline. We are under red flag restrictions meaning no outdoor fires of any sort, including bbq's. Fire hazard is not what you northerners dealt with not too long ago, but our forest fire service has been hopping this fall. 5
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted November 1 Author Popular Post Posted November 1 This is a good one for me...i don't do well in a lot of situations usually of my own making and lack of self confidence/belief. Staying away is my best defence against total breakdowns. And on that happy note, it is Friday, a good day for many reasons. Have a good one folks. 8

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted November 3 Author Popular Post Posted November 3 I'm still alive. This year's COVID-19 vaccine knocked the three of us off our feet. Ugh. I feel more alive today, however. And in case you need a reason for a celebration, it's a special day. We celebrate them and their role in the ecosystem...but no hugging, please. Have a lovely Sunday. Here's today's insight: 2 7
