had a shower ... the hot water was tempting and it won this morning.  How does Michael know everything?  He spoke to me about it, said i'm stressing too much, said 'boy we'll get it all done, and yeah i'd like it all done early so we can have a relaxed Christmas Eve. you're working and i simply don't want you to come home with a huge list of shit to do.' So we'll work on it all today and tomorrow.'

Mom did say Hi to everyone.

When we were there Wednesday, three cop cars were out front of the Nursing Home/Rehab Center she's in. She told me what happened today. One of the residents overnight Tuesday/Wednesday, passed away, and they found her gone in the morning when they did the medication hand-out. It was unexpected, as she was healthy as a horse Tuesday. Her family called TPD as they felt the death was suspicious. Aside from the initial investigation, she doesn't know how it turned out yet.

 

Have I mentioned my Mom runs the joint? LOL. She's just a resident, but everyone comes to her to get things done or to find out what's going on.

Mum is having an off morning too. She said she felt like having a pity party for herself. The day has brightened a bit for her. She got her hair cut. The sun has come out. And the amaryllis I brought with me from home is in bloom. It has large deep red double blooms and is by the kitchen window. Hope your day improves too little brother.

In case you dont know, Starry, winged Wolf is my adult daughter and also  a member here, though she is an infrequent visiter.

 

 

Sort of.  All dark meat, a tad stronger than chicken, and all delicious! Small enough to roast one per guest, and assuming they were farm raised usually melt in your mouth tender. And I cannot picture Vegans hunting quail! Is a pretty big concession to serve meat of any kind for most vegans.

There are only two vegans - one is the hostess - and with her daughter (my SiL) and my brother there, the non-vegan cooking will be handled. Interesting to note, the hostess ate the salmon she cooked last Christmas dinner or the one the year before (can’t remember which), so she must be a relatively new convert.

mine was Pommies hard cider ... very nice.. not much of beer drinker. but they serve a bunch of local craft beers and they sound great. you can get a sampler of 4 of whats on tap.  may have to try that one day.

I cooked a pork roast today. Never done it before. Turned out pretty good. Even managed to get some crackling. Served with potatoes, baked root vegetables (parsnip, Swedish turnip, candy striped beets), purple cauliflower, romanesco, and a port wine sauce. My guest brought a Chianti.
