I wish everyone a happy day. It’s 4pm here, time to make a pot of tea! We’re enjoying sunshine and warmth....and.....my new shorts are undergoing beta testing. Early signs are very promising. My day started with wolf whistling from my partner. There was also a giggly bum squeeze. So far, so good! Regards, Jack. Oh, this made me smile. Thanks for the good cheer, Jack. As for me, it’s glorious outside, so I’m going for a walk. See you all later, and if I don’t, have a great day everyone! 5 1

Popular Post kbois Posted June 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 15, 2020 In addition to working on my story, I also did some grocery shopping online and had it delivered to the office. Never stepping in a grocery store again! Totally worth the extra $$ for a minimal delivery charge and tip. Why have I not done this already!? 4 2

Why have I not done this already!? our local grocery chain has had this for about 18 months, and i so very rarely do a big shop "in store" anymore one in a while i'll have to go in for milk or when we want garlic bread from the deli i'll go in and you can't tell me that whatever the delivery and up-charge is that you aren't saving, heck just the stuff that seems to jump off the shelves into the shopping cart all by themselves and being able to do the shopping from the sofa in your jammies? priceless 5 4

You could sneak in a little story writing (I’ve started reading your D/s story.) 50 shades of grey is a D/s story too … it's not remotely life like. Like most stories written about our Lifestyle. If you have a real interest I hope you will refer to people who actually live it. 10 1

I spent a long time researching for my D/s couple in Fleeting Eternity. You, MacGreg's writings, and tim (along with his poetry - wow!) were immensely helpful in getting it done in a way that was respectful and as true to the "real" as I could make it. D/s is fetishized for entertainment purposes, when really it's a depiction of a way of Life that's already misunderstood. I figured if I'm going to write D/s then I need to do my homework with those who live it. Distrust of mainstream media in this case is healthy. I know I didn't get it perfect, but I did my best as a guy who doesn't live that Life. 7 4

It's not perfect, but what I'm working on now is taking what I've learned and applying it the best I can. I'm sure there are plenty of mistakes, but I'll own up to them. 50 Shades was bit too far fetched for even me. Thanks for the vote of confidence Jack. 4 1

Better today than yesterday, and better yesterday than Sunday so -- hopefully (knock on wood) I'm on the downhill side of whatever this is. Payne Co. Health couldn't get me in until the 18th so I went to Urgent Care who is also doing the "slow" test. I should have that result back in the next 3 to 5 days. They also did a test for flu and strep, both of which came back negative (I never suspected strep and neither did they really but they wanted to be thorough). He said it was possible it was the flu and I'm past the infectious phase. We'll know for sure when we get the Covid test back. 9

I've still not done the online grocery shopping w. curbside pickup, but that's mostly because SP has been picking up groceries on the nights he works his 2nd job at Walmart. By the way, don't put too much faith in their "testing employee's temperature before letting them work" -- the thermometer they're using has registered his temp as low as 91F at times. Told him if it had actually been that low he'd either be in a coma or dead. 6

I love it. You mentioned confidence. That’s the attribute I like in authors like yourself, Wayne and tim. You all come across as having confidence in your characters. It makes for more engaging scenarios. It’s all good. 4

It made perfect sense. I am tired of people thinking and writing that our lifestyle is about is sex. It is WRONG. I am out of here. Thank you, Mike. You already know why I came about to write my story, but maybe others don't. I very intentionally chose Kent and stanley to be guys who explore and then adopt the D/s lifestyle. I did this for one huge reason. It was to atone for the misinformation that I myself had perpetuated concerning the Life. See the long blurb under the spoiler to read the whole story. Spoiler Locally we have a couple of "Doms," they call themselves. They have a cadre of boys, and all are subtly but certainly trapped by circumstances these men encourage. It's not a good place for them to be, but when a young guy doesn't have the financial means to escape, then he's as trapped as if he were chained. Well, under their roof one of the boys broke and ended his life. These men are not guardians, stewards, or partners. Most importantly, they are not Doms. They're not trustworthy. Yet they didn't do anything illegal - just immoral and manipulative. After it happened, I thought all men calling themselves Doms were like them. I'm not proud of it ... but I was vocally not a fan of them or the larger community, because the only example I had was so flawed and abusive. I became part of the problem for those who are genuine, serious and just trying to live. Fae made me think I might have been wrong. During our email exchanges, I found out he had lived as a Dom ... yet the love he expressed for his boy was incredible. I asked many questions. Every email convinced me that I'd assumed far too much about an entire way of being. Let me tell you, that's a crappy place to be; to know that I was a part of the problem. I had already begun Fleeting Eternity, but had yet to introduce stanley. As a way to educate myself and anybody else willing to learn, I made Kent and stanley begin their own D/s journey. After reading some scenes for me, Fae pointed me here ... to tim, MacGreg, and Michael. The rest is history. We need to have the awareness - this writing club is specifically designed to increase knowledge of the dynamic (go read the very first post tim made when he started it). So if it feels like you're being preached at, well ... you are. That's the point of this place - to learn what D/s is and isn't. To show support for those who may wonder if the Life is right for them. Some visitors here need to be reaffirmed that the way they are is valid. The DiC may be the only place they feel accepted for their lives. So here in the DiC ... we are livers, learners, stewards or supporters of our D/s friends. It's not hard, but it can be immensely important in a world where even the gay community treats the entire Life as a fetish to be picked up and discarded as desired. FYI - I am not D/s. I've learned a lot, but I don't live it. I'm not an expert. I just want to be an ally to my friends and members who are marginalized by the larger gay (and straight!) community. As for who I am? Not a liver, and not really a learner in the truest sense, and I don’t think I can call myself a steward. Having said that I am a friend to the nth degree and I am respectful of who my friends are. To be anything less is incomprehensible to me. Edited June 15, 2020 by Reader1810 4 3
