I tweaked the recipe a little bit. I used veggie stock instead of water and used 2 1/2 teaspoons of turmeric vs 1 tablespoon. It was absolutely delicious. I made enough to freeze some and I'll have it for lunch tomorrow too. https://pinchofyum.com/golden-soup We had shrimp baked in parchment over brown basmati rice and roasted asparagus. 4 2
Popular Post dughlas Posted May 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 19, 2020 It's very warm and humid. To took Thistle for a short drag at dawn, he dawdled because of the heat. We're forecast to have heavy rains the next couple of days. 2 2 2
Popular Post Bucket1 Posted May 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 19, 2020 We are having really chilly mornings here - bluefish cold Another day in the office trying to get the most people in the biggest space. The physical distancing rules are making life a little bit more complicated. Val's dinner got me thinking, it is soup weather here. Walking outside at lunchtime with the sun on my back, oh it was soooooooo good 1 6

Although I normally wouldn't add any fruit, nuts, or sugar to a soda bread mix, and certainly not egg or butter. What the recipe in this video seems to be making is a cake, rather than a loaf of bread. I wonder if the narrator has ever eaten real Irish soda bread. After all, she compares what her recipe would turn out to be like a large scone. That's not what Irish soda bread is. I counted around ten separate ingredients in the video. The recipe in the one I linked to has just four: flour, salt, bread soda (bicarbonate of soda), and buttermilk (or soured milk) - okay, five if you count the two types of flour separately. Buttermilk is readily available in Ireland. It's not sold much in England, so my sister normally adds a tablespoon of lemon juice to fresh milk instead (to replace the natural acidity in buttermilk, which is needed to release the carbon dioxide from the bicarbonate of soda, and so make the bread rise in the oven). No one said you had to make this recipe but I am sure if you look around just a bit you can find something that more closely fits what you want to make! And I can see you didnt take your pills today 4

Walking outside at lunchtime with the sun on my back, oh it was soooooooo good My garage man reopened yesterday, so I called in today to book an overdue service for the car. He was telling me that a motor parts factor had delivered him some parts earlier. Apparently that firm had only been allowed to reopen yesterday as well, and in the afternoon yesterday the depot had received an unannounced visit from the HSE (Health Service Executive) to make sure they were following correct social-distancing and hygiene regulations. Nice day here, as well. Clouds and sun, but more sun than clouds. Currently about 16°C (61°F). Made testing out my new lawnmower more pleasant than it could have been. 7

Popular Post clochette Posted May 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 19, 2020 Hi all It's hot here! The weather report had predicted around 24° but it's 28°C! It feels like summer. I went to pick up a covid19 protection kit for Mom - apparently she's still on the registers as a child minder so she gets 2 face masks, a little bottle of hydroalcoolic gel and a visor - in the city and there was a lot of people! Took me half an hour to find a parking spot! Not much people in the shops but walking around window shopping, sitting on a bench having an ice cream, just walking and talking and enjoying being able to meet friends and enjoying the sun. It was a nice sight. I then went vegetables shopping and there too lot of people but social distancing was always respected. 3 2 2
