About to head off for a visit with the dental hygienist. Twenty minutes of torture, but I missed the last scheduled visit in the spring, due to the lockdown. I thought the visit a few weeks ago was for that, but it turned out the dentist himself wanted to do a full check up.

I check the appointment card in my wallet and realise she's totally correct.

 

Mum said to let you know those senior moments come along faster as time passes ... about the only thing you'll find you're faster at accomplishing.

The simple recipes are often the best type.

So many recipes these days have a list as long as my arm of weird sounding ingredients. Many of which, when all added together, have probably enough miles on their journey from source to shop to have travelled to the moon and back.

As far as possible I try to cook with locally produced food. And now I have a garden again, as far as possible I try to use as much of my own grown as possible.
