Popular Post clochette Posted April 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) Happy Tuesday gang Another beautiful speing day here. The gas boiler maintenance guy finally came this morning after 2 previous appointment cancel at the last minute in the last month. I did some studying while he was busy. This afternoon I got busy in the garden, sow some green and yellow beans then went to a friend for a bit of chat and crepes in the sun 🌞 and finally had BBQ sausages for dinner and text with a friend. I hope your day was enjoyable Edited April 20, 2021 by clochette 6

It was a pleasant day here reached 70/21° with partly cloudy skies. I did a bit off work outdoors. The forecast is for it to turn chilly during the day tomorrow. Fortunately the ocean water temp is in the mid-60's/18° so that plus a light wind should keep us frostfree here along the coast 2 3

I didn't get much done today, but I weeded, raked, and spread more mulch yesterday. My lawns are looking great, and the tiger lily shoots are coming up gangbusters. I've never been this far ahead before. 6
Popular Post Albert1434 Posted April 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) I have started steve carnitas! (In Mexican cooking) braised or roasted pork served shredded in small pieces, often as a filling in tacos, burritos, etc.. "the carnitas had a great grilled flavor that melted in your mouth" Edited April 20, 2021 by Albert1434 6
Popular Post Headstall Posted April 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2021 So, there was a 10 inch sliding, laser mitre saw on sale this week, and I mentioned to my son that I should buy it. My kids ended up going in on it together for me. It's my very early Father's Day gift. 6

Dryer than the past few days, even if not much warmer. Although i had a couple of Zoom meetings to attend, I still managed to assemble the bamboo trellis for this year's runner beans. I'll wait a few weeks for the soil to warm up a bit more before sowing the seeds at the base of the canes. I might sow a row of broad bean seeds tomorrow, and maybe even a row of early cropping peas. The next month should see the vegetable garden beginning to look as though it really is intended as a garden, rather than just a large expanse of bare soil. Edited April 20, 2021 by Marty 2 4
Popular Post Page Scrawler Posted April 21, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 21, 2021 I was watching a show last night called Beachfront Bargain Hunt: Renovation. A couple was searching for a place on Galveston Island, Texas. After finding their ideal location, they set about converting the unfinished basement into a guest apartment. However! Galveston Island is a barrier island, which is essentially a large sandbar. Most houses in such an environment are built on pylons or stilts, with a storage area or maybe an outdoor shower stall underneath. Why? Because, hurricanes. When hurricane season starts, that guest room will be under 10 ft of water. The whole time I was watching the show, I kept thinking, "That's a terrible investment." The basement was left unfinished for a reason. 3 1 2
