Popular Post dughlas Posted July 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 7, 2021 Took mum to see her GP this morning for her 6-month checkup. She's in very good health though it seems she's got a bit of a uti. Waiting on sensitivity testing results to know which antibiotic is needed. Next week it's a visit with the cardiologist for an annual stress test and 6-month checkup. 7

A similar quote that I've always liked goes along the lines of... "Enough is essential, but enough is enough." I'm not 100% sure where it comes from, but think I may have come across it in the book "Small Is Beautiful: A Study of Economics As If People Mattered" - a collection of essays published in 1973 by German-born British economist E. F. Schumacher. 4

One of my younger sisters is called Margaret (usually we just call her Maggie), and she's a huge fan of Rod Stewart. At family get-togethers that song nearly always gets played, and we all join and sing along. She just loves it when we do that. Edited July 7, 2021 by Marty Tidying up 4
Marty Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 Way past my bedtime. Good night, all! I'll leave you all with this... I just love one of the tongue-in-cheek comments one person left to it... "They seem like a nice little country band. Have they recorded anything else?" 1 3
Headstall Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 Hey, all. I'm tired from doing a lot of tree trimming and weeding today. I was on a ladder for much of the day but I was careful... even tied it at one point. Sweet dreams... I think I'm too tired to write, but I might still try.... 5

Popular Post dughlas Posted July 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted July 8, 2021 G'day y'all. The second of the main rain bands from TS Elsa is passing over. We were roused just before 5:30am when the first heavy rain band arrived by a National Weather Service text blast that we were under a tornado warning until 6am. Fortunately nothing came of that other than getting us all out of bed. Normally the pup and I get up at 4:30 but today we were having a bit of a lie in since it was raining heavily. Mum however, doesn't normally get up until 6:30 so she's had an early start. The worst of the storm should have passed by in the next hour with just remnant showers before clearing later. 6

dughlas Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 A second tornado warning was posted about 10 minutes ago at 7:55am. Based on radar it seems the threat has passed us by and the rain is visibly greatly diminished though it's still blustery. Sky is brightening. 5
